My wife and I tried Elsa's out a few weeks ago. Despite the fact that there were only 2 other tables occupied, it still took our waitress a solid ten minutes to bring our drink orders. We should've taken that as a warning sign and ran for our lives. All I can remember of our orders is that my wife got a salad. The rest of the food was completely forgettable, which is probably a good thing since the salad is only memorable for the bad experience. My wife's salad took a half an hour. Another half-hour after the salad she caught the waitress' eye over my shoulder. She said the waitress had a surprised ""whoops!"" look on her face before she scurried away to the kitchen. At the hour and ten minute mark, the waitress came by to tell us that our meals would be up shortly. Frustrated, we told her that she had five minutes to deliver our meals before we left. The waitress immediately got all defensive, intimating that it was my wife's fault our entrees were taking so long ""because you ordered a salad,"" as though the meals would've been delivered sooner if that darned complicated garden salad hadn't tied up all of Elsa's kitchen resources for the past 45 minutes. I will credit the waitress for her tenacity: she chose her story -- blame the customer -- and she stuck to it. No apology for taking an hour and 13 minutes to bring the entrees, no offer to comp a dessert or discount the meal, nothing. Why should she, right? After all, it was the dumb salad-eating customer's fault, not hers. Needless to say, we will NEVER go back. It was the culinary equivalent of the Mass Pike: took way too long and all you can do is sit there thinking to yourself, ""I can't believe I'm PAYING for this abuse!""
Pros: That salad was mighty tasty...although that could've just been because we were STARVING.
Cons: The waitress was from hell.
