A beautiful little zoo 3/17/2006

Elmwood Park Zoo is a nice quite zoo away from the city. The Zoo received a total makeover several years ago and continues to add more animals and trails. The animals are sometimes rescued animals. There are live shows where the kids can get up close and personal with owls, and reptiles. My nephews had their birthday party there and the kids had a blast. There are pony rides too. There is a great gift shop which doesn't charge you and arm and a leg like the big Philadelphia Zoo does. It's a great place to spend an afternoon with the kids. more

Great for smaller children 1/14/2006

Norristown's Elmwood Park Zoo is a little gem! If you have preschool children, this zoo is the perfect size for a morning's outing. They have enough animals to be interesting, but to so many that it would take all day to see them. They have really nice extra programs that you can pay a fee for and have your preschooler learn about an animal or insect in depth. There is also a very nice playground, so that the kids can run off some energy after walking around for a while. The prarie dog exhibit is a favorite of our family, as well as the pond where you can feed the ducks. A terrific place, make sure you try it out. more

Best zoo in area 12/28/2005

elmwood park zoo is the best zoo in the area and a nice place to visit with the kids. they have all kinds of animals with them and they have tried their best to provide these animals with their natural environment. the entry fees is $8 which is quite reasonable. they also have adequate parking space available for their visitors. more
