I would not recommend this facility, if time and care , is of ANY kind of issue for you. Ive been told multiple things about what my diagnosis ""sounds like"", and multiple tests were ordered. I never get any kind of phone calls telling me about my results or any potential problems, while in the process, my symptoms getting worse. The radiologist and other staff at Trident, who conducted 75% of my testing, told me most of my results- which wasnt good news. I try to call first thing in the morning, so that someone can call me back, and i get no response all day. If my pain and symptoms are as ""bad"" as they are made out to be, then why am i not getting any attention, and no action is being carried out? im not even getting so much as a courtesy call or check up. I had an Upper Endoscopy scheduled and a follow up scheduled almost 3 WEEKS later! 3 weeks?! im supposed to sit here in pain, while watching my children, and wait for a follow up for that long.... right. I feel un important and abandoned by these Drs. The feel of their attitudes and sense of arrogance is a turn-off, as well. While asking questions at the initial appointment, i got shotty and sarcastic responses, as if i was brainless. There are better facilities- and if you have an option, go somewhere else! more

I would not recommend Elms Digestive to anyone. I have gone there 2 years in a row and both years they have screwed up my bill. I spent hours fixing it last year. I informed them of which labs need to be used with my insurance company for biopsies, and both years they have used their in house laboratory costing me hundreds extra in bills. This year I had no abnormalities in my testing and they took biopsies that they did not inform me about. I found out on my insurance EOB that shows me owing $500 for that. Do not go here. MUSC is worth the wait. more

Four years ago I went to Elms for a colonoscopy, expecting a uneventful result with normal results. What I got was the most shocking news of Cancer. With the help of my Dr. and the staff at Elms I was referred to a super surgeon. Elms staff was extremely helpful with any questions I had from the procedure to and including billing questions. I have the procedure yearly at this point and when I call for anything I'm always greeted with care and concern. My husband is a patient there also an we have eperienced the same kindness an support. Thank you to the staff and doctors of Elms. more

Best office in town 1/30/2012

The entire process from office visits to procedures was smooth and easy. I was very nervous going into my first office visit. I thought it would be difficult to discuss the problems I was experiencing, but the staff made me comfortable quickly and my doctor took plenty of time to answer my questions and tell me about the procedures. When I returned for the scope, they were ready for us. There were no problems and it felt like I was only there for a few minutes. I highly recommend Elms. more

I had a GREAT experience! 1/29/2012

I made an appointment with Elms Endoscopy Center, and I have to say, that after reading the reviews, I was a bit nervous about going to get a colonoscopy and an upper endoscopy. I went in the day of my appointment and I showed Dr. Gregory Goodear the reviews. He assured me that there was nothing to worry about. In fact, he apologized for the center receiving a couple of bad reviews. He promised he would take good care of me and that he would follow up with me as soon as I woke up from recovery. Doctor Goodear, the anesthesiologist, and the nurses explained what was going to happen step by step and they were very attentive to me...they were very upbeat and we even joke a little before I was put under. I must say I was very relaxed and no longer nervous. When I woke up (which seemed like a minute later) the first face I saw was my beautiful wife and our 4yr old gorgeous granddaughter ! They brought both of them into the recovery room to be there for me when I woke up ( that was a class act by the doctors! ) And as promised, Dr. Goodear came in to see how I was doing and told me that everything went well...he showed me my results...removed 3 polyps and he found and ulcer in my stomach. He gave me medicine for my ulcer, and sent the polyps, and a part of the ulcer to be analyzed for cancer. I received a follow up call about two days later to see how I was doing and to see if I had any questions. A week later I received my result showing that the polyps and the ulcer were benign. Dr. Goodear will see me again in 6 weeks to follow up with the ulcer and he wants to see me every 5 years for future colonoscopies. The facility is very clean, everyone there is very friendly, I was there for about just under 2 hours (with both procedures done). My bill was never discuss, they handled everything with the insurance company and I never got a bill. My experience was more than great, I would recommend anyone to Dr. Goodear. Make sure you mention these reviews and let him know how others feel about him... more

Great experience, highly recommended 7/8/2011

I had a colonoscopy here yesterday with Dr Florez, the staff were very friendly, were patient with me concerning my IV phobia, the Dr was very professional and talked me through the whole thing. The facility was very clean, very efficiently run, in fact from leaving home to getting back in my home, it was a total of two hours! Never was any cost or bill mentioned, I'm assuming it will be sent to me. I was given the results of my procedure immediately after I woke up (by Dr Florez) Everything was ok. My whole experience at this facility went above and beyond what I had expected. Thanx guys, I will be referring you all to anyone I hear that needs the service you provide so well! more

There are much better doctors in the area 7/1/2010

Insurance or not, they will bill you constantly. No one can answer questions in the office. Doctors are quick to scoot you out the door when they have their money - but you may not have any results. Sales pitchy. Much better doctors in the area. Try MUSC or even Mt. Pleasant. Cons: Billing problems, poor quality physicians more

worst medical experience 6/9/2010

Wow, where should I start? During my initial visit, the doctor told me he needed to do an upper endoscopy and colonoscopy to determine the diagnosis. I was immediately booked for this outpatient procedure - it went smoothly without any problems. However, when the test results can back with some abnormalities, the doctor refused to see me for a follow-up visit - even to discuss a potentially life changing diagnosis. He failed to follow-up with additional testing and failed to review my medical records from other physicians. By now, my symptoms were getting more severe. I changed treatment based on their diagnosis and was not improving. But, the doctor refused to see me for another 4-6 weeks!! The lack of compassion and empathy was astounding. Seeking a second opinion, I made an appointment with another GI doctor (at a different facility). The new doctor took time (35-40 minutes) to listen to me. He reassured me that the initial diagnosis was wrong and wondered why the Elms Doctor performed an upper endoscopy given my symptoms. I was placed on a different treatment and got better within a few days. If the first doctor (at Elms) had taken time to talk to me, I believe my symptoms would have resolved sooner. If the Elms doctor had any compassion or empathy, I would have understood if a misdiagnosis was made - doctors, like everyone else, make mistakes. And, I would have left it as a simple mistake if not for his total disregard for patient care. I got the impression that they profit immensely from doing procedures (after all, they have a giant endoscopy center). But, once the procedure was done, it was no longer profitable to see me (the post operative care is factored into the procedure cost) and take valuable physician time. I have tried to restrain my anger and disgust with this pIace, but thinking about my experience again makes me absolutely sick. I would give them zero stars if I could. I hope you find this information helpful. You would be best to seek another facility for your digestive care. Pros: none Cons: misdiagnosed, no empathy, no communication more
