HIGHLY RECOMMEND!! I have relied on Dr. Elmore for many years. She is an exceptional doctor. She always listens closely, takes the patient's concerns seriously, and is overall kind, comforting and sympathetic. In every case, Dr. Elmore brings to bear all of her impressive medical & health training, and experience,, which is both broad and deep. ""Continuing education"" is clearly a priority for Dr. Elmore. She stays current on the medical/ health literature, and is constantly on the lookout for new information, break-throughs, studies, research that may offer answers that her patients need. Many of Dr. Elmore's patients have chronic illnesses and/or other more difficult than usual health problems. Where other doctors may have thrown in the towel, Dr. Elmore persists in treating even the most discouraging and baffling challenges, offering information and explaining whatever various possible approaches to care... OF COURSE, she refers patients to specialists whenever she determines that is the appropriate course (but not as a ""hand off"" - she's still there for you). And OR COURSE she does not have a magic wand to provide cures for any and everything. But, compared to the many other doctors I have known, both in dealing with my own health challenges and assisting friends and family in dealing with theirs., Dr. Elmore is among the very best. more

Amazing diagnostician in an old-time doctor's office 11/14/2011

I found Dr. Elmore through a long string of word-of-mouth recommendations. Actually, I had been hearing good things about her for years. The praise was so effusive I dismissed it. Mistake! \r \r I finally found a talented diagnostician in Dr. Elmore. After being shoved through the system and rubber stamped for years, I finally found a true diagnostician - one who will look at the sum total of all symptoms (rather than swatting each one like a pesky fly), test until the underlying cause is found, and treat it. Like others in the word-of-mouth chain, I'm feeling better for the first time in years. She also diagnosed a problem in my young teenager, that left untreated, could have been fatal. Four other doctors (one of which was a reputable pediatrician) missed it. \r \r This is the way medicine used to be, before insurance company procedures turned Docs into rubber-stamp assembly lines. I remember when physicians gave you as much time as you needed, listened carefully to you, gave your situation considerable thought, wasn't afraid to continue testing until the problem was found, and worked with you to find a solution that works for you. I didn't think that existed any more, until I found Star Care. \r \r Dr. Elmore puts the ~patient~ first, not the requirements of the insurance companies. You're not better unless you say you're better, and she'll keep looking.\r \r The office has a 'small town feel'. After a few visits, the staff knows you by name, and takes the extra step to make you feel like a person, not a chart to process and fees to collect. They don't just hand you a referral form; they find a reputable provider close to where you live, and send over all the information for you, so everything is set up.\r \r Honestly, I don't know how she does it. Her offices are surprisingly spacious; she gives you as much time as you need, AND she's not expensive. \r \r One of her PAs (Kristin) is good, but the other (Michael) we found to be an insensitive dunderhead. Just ask for Kristin, unless it's something very simple.\r more
