The person who replied to this review is just ignorant themselves and probably haven't even been to the hospital to receive services because they have insurance seeing that they can afford plastic surgery. Truman Medical Center is a hospital that is suppose to help people not discriminate. My brother was thrown from a car and since he is over the legal age to receive medicaid he has to go to Truman. He was not only thrown from a car and bleeding he is positive for HIV. His foot was swollen, he was bruised up, he had cuts and scrapes everywhere. He sat in there from 10a-10p. In a hospital they do have wheelchairs and not once did they offer him a wheelchair while he was screaming in pain. Yes he asked and they eventually gave him one. This lady came out with a wheelchair to trade this other man for his and he asked for that and she gave him a lot of attitude. He kept on asking and finally at like 4 they gave him one and soon after that they took it away. They had no one back there getting treatment. Everybody kept getting called back for vital signs over and over again. This one dude was slumped down in a chair it looked like he was dead! They don't help people at all. I bet you everyday somebody just goes home and dies or develops some type of infection because they don't truly care. Not even pregnant women get help like they suppose to. Healthcare is suppose to be a passionate career but people are only going to school for it because they know people are needed in that area. I've never written a review for something or some place before, but I definitely have plenty to say about this hospital. Now I understand that a lot of people can't always afford to go to another hospital, due to lack of insurance. I, myself, am one of those people. But what I can't figure out, is why do they treat you like a piece of worthless garbage? I had my last child there, last October, and I swear....I will NEVER return to that place, even if I'm bleeding to death. They tried to accuse me of being on narcotics, insisting it was protocol that they test my newborn for them. Not one person told the same story as the last, on that one... While I was going in for my lab work, the ignorant woman in the lab LOST my test results. On top of that, I had the rudest woman for a Doctor, I have EVER met in my life. She absolutely refused to answer any questions I had towards my pregnancy or anything. I'll tell you something else too; don't EVER go to their emergency room, if you can help it. No matter what time it is, day OR night, and no matter HOW busy they may or may not be, you will sit there for hours on end, with no help. The will barely acknowledge your presence, regardless of the extent of your injury/injuries. It is highly recommended that you do NOT seek help from these people, as you could die from waiting for the help and treatment you need. Pros: Great if you don't have insurance Cons: The treatment is horrible, the people don't really care more
