Pro: Small business so less chaotic environment for my dog and cat. Ellie is the only one who takes care of the animals (I think) so they come home and go in happy to see her and seem relaxed when we pick them up. Clean and good smelling.\r \r Con: Short open hours and closed Sundays and Holidays. They do not take credit or debit cards. Farther from home. Books up fast so we have to plan ahead.\r \r Decision: After visiting other boarding places in Ogden and Brigham City we decided to leave our pets at Ellie's. We have gone 3 times now from overnight to two weeks at a time and each time we have returned to happy clean pets. We met her daughter once and she seemed to love our cat as much as we do. But usually Ellie is the one we always see. We like the fact that she is with our pets everyday so we know how they did from a first hand account instead of ""so and so said"" that we experienced when we left them one other place before finding Ellie's. We will continue to use only Ellie's when we go on vacation. more

Constant great service. Our dog loves to go to Ellie's and cant wait to get out of the car and get in. We have a shy dog who we were afraid would not take to kenneling but when we picked her up she was all wiggles and barks and whines of joy. She ran to us and then back to ellie and then back to us as if say come on it its fun. (That's what the wife says she says). Our cat has always came back healthy and smelling good. They do not always answer the phone when we call but if we leave a message they get back to us within a short time of us calling. It used to frustrate me that they did not answer right away but there has been times one of the workers have been checking us in and ignores the phone to take care of us first. Ellie and the girls have never disappointed us and we know without a doubt that our kids are in good hands. more

We found Ellie's about 4 years ago and would never go anywhere else. The first time we went in our Kids (ok dogs) were nervous but they quickly got to wagging as the staff was on the floor with them. The second time they pulled us to the door and did not even look back as they went back to their room. I have always been pleased with the sight and smell of the place. And my kids are not stupid, if they were not treated well I know they would show me. I highly recommend Ellie to everyone I know. The longevity of the place and the history of the owner speaks for itself (Google it if you don't believe me). more

Love it! 4/28/2012

I cannot express how thankful my husband and I are to have Ellie's. Let me start off by saying that the first time we brought our dog in for boarding (she is a 7-year-old shih tzu) and picked her up, the owner of the facility told us that there was a small lump on her back and advised us to get it checked out. I had never noticed it before but I was SO glad she did because when we had it examined it turned out to be cancerous! Fortunately, we caught it in time. But I don't know if our dog would be here today if it hadn't been for Ellie. We are very thankful to have her. And even though we've recently moved down to the Provo area we are still willing to take the drive down to board our dog. She has done so much for us that I would never go anywhere else. Not only that but the prices fair, and the staff is very friendly and helpful. I would recommend Ellie's Pet Hotel to everyone. You won't be disappointed. more

Ellie really knows what she's doing. 3/5/2012

We've been bringing our two Pomeranians to ellie for 6 years now for both boarding and grooming and we couldn't be happier. We walked through her kennels twice now, once before and once after the renovations, and we are always impressed at how clean and organized things are. You can really tell that she has been doing this for a long time. more

Won't go back - ever - 2/28/2012

Our first experience with boarding at Ellie's was good. Our second was horrible. We tried four times to call and check (he's our baby) on our Shih Tzu and the calls were never answered. Our 7 mo puppy was wimpering when picked up. At home we gave him water and he drank 2 1/2 bowls non-stop. I checked his bag and his dog food only had about one serving out of the quart size bag. His toys and blanket had not been given to him because they still smelled like Gain detergent. After our puppy drank he immediately started having bloody diarrhea and throwing up. When we were cleaning him we found a place about the size of a quarter on his bottom where the puppy had rubbed all the fur off down to an open wound trying to clean himself. I called the owner, Ellie, and asked her what he was given to eat - she never told me - and why he was so dehydrated. It seemed she withheld water to keep him from diarrhea. The vet said he had a baterial infection usually caused by contaminated food or licking contaminated surfaces. He is on an antibiotic for the infection and another for the wound on his bottom. Ellie was dishonest by not telling us the puppy had been sick when we picked him up. We believe she didn't answer our calls because either she wasn't there and someone else was neglecting our puppy or she was avoiding us because he was sick. She was very defensive only saying he wasn't a good eater. Our puppy was treated cruelly and left to fend for himself once he got sick. We paid the highest fee, $19.50 per day because we wanted the best care possible. If Ellie had been truthful with us when the bloody stool and vomiting began we would have asked someone to pick him up or ask Ellie to take him to the vet she told us she uses in cases like this. Our little Shih Tzu had lost almost 2 lbs. We believe if we had been away fro a couple more days, our puppy would not have survived. I am writing this without the swear words and absolute anger I feel toward the Pet Hotel. DO NOT TAKE YOUR PET THERE. EVER. more
