I have been to a couple dominican style salons in Florida Ms. Elba is the real deal! She was closed on the day I came in and she came in just for me, I felt right at home. Not only does she have a lot of knowledge but she uses nothing but the best products. If you trust and believe in what she tells you, your hair will flow :) Im looking forward to my next visit! more

If you're here looking for a salon that does NATURAL African-American hair...then look no further!!!\r \r The salon is nice. Has all different ethnic groups for clients!! I was a little nervous when I walked in the door and saw so many Caucasian's sitting! BUT, my experience turned out well!\r \r Elba is warm and funny. I got my hair done by her son *I was extremely anxious with him*, considering that he suggested that I get my hair RELAXED, because it would be easier (we ALL have heard this story)!!! So, I was ready to walk out the door! No joke!\r \r But he and Elba was sure that he knew what he was doing! I allowed him to do my hair and it turned out beautiful!! BONE STRAIGHT!! :) Did I mention that he did not burn me to death with the blow drier?!!!!\r \r Anyways, I went to back to Elba today and she did a color and blow out!! $65!!! Not bad at all!\r \r I highly recommend this salon! And especially her son! Tell them the girl with the ""red hair"" sent you! :) more

I was referred to Elba‘s salon after my 14-year old daughter suffered terrible hair breakage at the hands of a reputable stylist. Not only did Elba treat my daughters damaged hair and got it on the road to being healthy again, she gave her the most amazing blow out I have ever seen. My daughters hair was soft, silky, and above all, healthy looking. I was so impressed that I decided to let her do my hair as well. My hair has never been so straight and full of body from a blow out! It simply flows in the wind when I walk. Incredible! Elba’s reputation is well deserved. Not only does she take care of your hair, she also educates you on what’s needed to keep your hair healthy and growing. Elba is a very pleasant and knowledgeable woman who cares about her clients. I’m so glad I found her salon. She’s personable, and her prices are reasonable. Her Dominican blowout is the best in Columbus. I have been going for about six months and I have yet to be disappointed with her services. more

I called Elba a day in advance and asked if she does Dominican style blowouts. I was assured that she does and came in for my appointment the next day. After explaining to the stylist that I'm going natural (no longer using a relaxer), she proceeded to tell me that that's a bad idea and that I HAD TO get a relaxer in order to get my hair straight (which totally defeats the purpose of a blow out). I again expressed to the assistant that I did not want a relaxer, and that my scalp was irritated and dry and that a relaxer would not be a good idea under these circumstances. She relayed this info to Elba and she STILL recommended putting relaxer around my edges.\r \r After shampooing my hair, the assistant asked if I wanted a ""treatment"" (whatever that is), and I told her no. She told me to have a seat in her chair, and when Elba asked her if I had gotten a treatment she told her that I ""needed"" one and to take me back to the sink. I asked the assistant if it cost extra and she said it was included.\r \r Then to make matters worse, the assistant put rollers in my hair and sat me under the dryer for another HOUR before Elba finally got to me and ""straightened"" my hair. She continuously told me that my hair was thick, and that it would be straighter the next time I came because my hair had to ""get used to"" the process!!! Mind you, I had my hair blown out 3 weeks ago, and it was perfectly straight after the blow dryer AND he went over it again with the flat iron. (He was booked this week which is why I came to Elba). She piled grease on my hair, and the end product looks absolutely horrible. I had to go home and straighten it myself because I was too embarressed to be seen!\r \r Not only did she charge me $45, but I was there for 3 and a half hours! And for what? To leave looking like I just got caught in a rain storm. I wish she would've just told me that she wasn't comfortable styling African American hair. It would've saved me time and money. I had the best experience going to Ms.Elba's shop, she was sweet and read me from the time I walked through the door. She keep me laughing and smiling which is very hard for someone to do since I'm such a serious perosn. Overall when service was complete, my hair was soft, full of grt body and shine and a dandruff free scalp and happiness when I left her salon. From here on out I will be continuing my visits to Ms.Elbas salon weekly for Dominican Hair Services................ Pros: Exciting and Warm Enviornment Cons: Nothing negative to say all positive more

The only latin American salon that I found here in Columbus Ga. I was looking for a Dominican hair salon here but Elba’s hair salon comes very close to it!! I had a great time. She makes you feel at home it reminded me of the Dominican hair salons back in BX!!! Pros: Knows how to blow out the hair Cons: Wish she put more muscle in it. But that’s just me more
