This place has been here for almost 50 years! The tortillas are so fresh and there is NO preservatives! I come here for the holidays and special events always! They have barrels of marinated meat that is Awesome! You can't better authentic Mexican food than here! \r more

I'm OVER IT!! NEVER AGAIN!! 5/19/2011

Found a PUBIC HAIR on our chopped Carnitas-I was beyond pissed. The Tripas (Salty yuk!! Un-eatable). Their refried beans were swimming in LARD. The Tamales chewy (undercooked). The waiting period was ridiculous. Poorly managed- chaotic. Nothing but rude staff of cashiers, baggers & taco makers with attitude. Bad work environment Bad management Will need to make drastic changes to benefit better demographic to catch up with other companies. Advice to Senior Management Too many things to list!! Basically improve everything. Hire a more capable CEO (meant hire a capable CEO not one that has no vision) , improve benefits, treat employees better....etc.....etc. more

The worse MEXICAN FOOD EVER!!!! 5/19/2011

Longtime Customer abandoning ship!!!” What did it for me: A worker dropped 2 big heads into drain sewer system. Heads sat on floor a good 10 min. Worker thought no one was looking. He slowly p/up heads rinsed them, dipped them a bucket of red marinade, placed heads in cooking bags. Another young fellow working along side of him, found a worm in 1 of the heads, he rinsed the head proceeded to sink head in marinade, bagged it, and that I'm sure became somebody's SURVIVOR meal. DISGUSTING!!! more

UNSANITARY PLACE 5/18/2011

DON'T visit this place. It's really low maintenance. Their parking lot smells really bad (like sewer)! Overall, its a trashy place. The quality of food is bad. I guess you get what you pay for. Thus, it's disgusting!!! more

The Best Carnitas in OC 9/24/2009

I have been going to this place since I was a little boy.\r Later, in college, I introduced it to my friends and we would pick up 5 lbs of Carnitas/Carne Asada for New Years day. Tacos all day while watching all the college bowl games! Their carnitas are the best. The rest of their meat is nothing to laugh at either.\r I highly recommend it! Pros: Best Carnitas and Mexican market Cons: Parking...but you just need patience. more

Worth the heat... 8/2/2008

It might be hot in here but when you order you find out why. All the food is amazing and will always have you coming back for more. Notice the tortilla cooking machine, their hand rolled taquitos, and hand made FRESH tamales. The bomb....don't forget the sides. more

BEST EVER 5/5/2008

I've been buying carnitas from El Toro for years ... they are the best. Everone is helpful and your orders get filled pretty quick considering how crowded they always are, especially on weekends. Pros: Staff is mostly Spanish speaking, but are very helpful for those who don't speak the language. more
