Interested in a restaurant that feels more like home? El Rico's takes a style that's different than the rest. As you approach, your first sight is the outside seating area. It includes standard patio style tables surrounded by native orange trees. On a day with good weather, this makes for quite an exceptional dining experience. Nearby are the Santan Mountains, another excellent place to spend the weekend hiking. The restaurant is located on the periphery of Queen Creek and is bounded by the modest countryside.
If you're seeking a night scene, El Rico's takes flight during dusk. The entire house style eatery is lighted, including the bordering trees. Even from the street, it is quite attractive and serene. The property has a small footprint, but the second story allows for a raised view of the vicinity. The staff can accommodate for any type of group and the upstairs can be reserved for private use. At night, the key to the restaurant is lighting. Groups that reserve the top level are greeted by fine dining experience with candle light setting the mood.
The waiters always take care in making sure that you always have a good time. When your chips are low, they don't hesitate to give you more. I appreciate the friendliness of the staff and their professionalism. But, all of this grand experience cannot exist without good food. Starting with the salsa, you can tell El Rico's is authentic. The taste is great and the chips are crispy and made perfectly. Wait time for your meal is not long at all and the portions that arrive may make your eyes bigger than your stomach. On top of all that, the prices are beyond reasonable especially considering the amount of food you receive. You can get a plate full for nearly the same price as the drive-thru. Unfortunately, you must order from the counter. This is my only disappointment with the restaurant; however they do accommodate you once you order your food. If you're looking for a place to grab a bite to eat in the countryside then El Rico's is your number one authentic Mexican food choice.
