One look at this restaurant may cause many to drive right by and look for something else....I was taught to never judge a book by it's cover. This place is my favorite place to eat in the desert. Breakfast, lunch or a late dinner,(they seem to be open all the time)El Mexicali has the best Mexican food I have yet to eat. Shrimp Diablo, Shrimp Stuffed Peppers, Sea Food Cocktails are three of my favorites for dinner or lunch. Their breakfast menu boasts all the traditional favorites with added flair including Huevos Rancheros,Chorizo con Pappas, Huevos con Chicharon and many others items. Also included on the menu are a Carne Asada con Nopales which is truly amazing. Service is great and salsa is fantastic (if you like it spicy). This restaurant is not for the timid or meek...it is great hearty food served with a smile.
