El Mariachi

On our recent visit to El Mariachi in Weston, Florida we were not happy with our total dining experience. The entire time the waitress was hiding on her phone and talking with other servers when our family needed more drink and food. When we asked for more chips or general service, which we had to wave her down if we did need, she gave use an attitude as if she was frustrated that we needed something else. As a family of five we are paying a good amount of money to enjoy the "dining out" experience. She never checked on us to see if we needed to refresh a drink or more food etc. The ambiance wasn't even authentic. The kitchen had Michael Jackson blaring while the rest of the restaurant had Spanish music, both were so loud you could not hear either? Besides begging for our food and feeling crazy from the clashing music the food, thankfully was good. I have always liked their food but the service at the Weston location has always disappointed me. I will no longer go to this location which is closer to our home but instead the Hollywood location right near the Cinemark theatres. This store (Hollywood) is much more attentive to your needs as they ensure your dining out experience is a pleasure. I think its time the Weston El Mariachi's management thinks about giving their staff a good dose of customer service training, and basic skills to deal with and make sure customers are happy. more

Watch your card!\r I just had a big argument with manager and bar assistant, she tried to steal my card and because I made a big scene suddenly my card appeared. I called Weston, FL Police and\r when every client was looking at was happening they gave me my card back and said it was no charge.\r I have lived in Weston for 8 years with 2 kids and a beautiful wife and I will never go back again.This kind of situation is unacceptable.\r If you want to relax and have a good meal and time this is not your place.\r Thought I would give heads up so you don't have to go through what we went through... And the food is not all that, not worth it. more

The skirt steak was so good. What made this meal just average is the worst salsa I have ever tasted. It was onion gone crazy. If this place could get some good salsa which is the base for every Mexican Restaurant, it would be really good. La Bamba and Ole, Ole in Plantation have def got the best salsa around, but this skirt steak beat anything I have had in both. more

El Mariachi is the most disappointing restaurant in Weston. Their food is overpriced and nothing special. My sister asked for chips and queso and they acted like it was a strange request - finally, a pot of queso came that was essentially melted cheddar cheese.. NOT queso. Their enchiladas are okay, but you only have a choice of 2 sauces (Azteca offers more choice), and just wasn't worth the money spent. more

The food is nothing special, but the quality of their products and service makes up for it. Outdoor sitting is great! I would definitely recommend this place, especially for lunch. more

The coconut shrimp was not very good, but the best thing is crab and cheese nachos, it is not on the menu, but it's worth to order... The burrito is very rich and good( it is not filled w rice) more

Ordered the fried pork dinner for take-out. Got home to find 3 small pieces of pork with a box full of rice! What a rip off.... more

My husband and I went here with my 2 young sons on a Friday night on the recommendation of a friend. For some reason the hostess sat us in the back room of a practically empty restaurant. Our waiter was very nice and did a great job going over the menu and explaining the specials. First we ordered the boys meals - quesadillas from the children's menu. My husband and I wanted to share a chicken fajita, but asked for 2 sides of the set up. When the meal arrived the quesadillas for the boys were ice cold and the waiter brought 2 fajitas to the table! The waiter insisted there was no sharing - then finally admitted that there was a sharing charge - so we kept both fajitas. The side items that came with the fajita were served to us in little individual plastic containers. This is not a fast food mexican restaurant - so we were a bit put off by the fast food containers. Finally we asked for some extra cheese, since the little containers were very tiny and they charged us an extra $2. For drinks we ordered Milk for the boys and each had an ice tea. Total for the meal $86.00!!!!! We thought the fajitas were fine, but nowhere near worth an $80 food bill. Obviously, this establishment is not very family friendly - plus everything is a-la-carte. Needless to say we will not be dining at El Mariachi again. Pros: None that I could see. Cons: Very pricey for average at best food more

Hot chips and spicy salsa. best homemade Sangria ever, delicious Cuban and Mexican food, great service, live music - what more could you want??? Pros: Great Food, Fast Service, Great Sangria more
