I first came to this place about five years ago with my grandma's "Lunch Bunch". She knew I loved Mexican food and had been there prior. I went and I immediately fell in love with the place. It has an old Mission-Style feel. The lighting is low, but not too low. The music is Mariachi (but no live-band, or at least, not when I've been there). The music isn't too loud, either. The service is wonderful. And now, on to the best of all: the food! Every meal comes with Spanish rice and refried beans. Plus, there is a never-ending supply of home-made tortilla chips (which are excellent) and freshly made salsa (which is authentic and spicy, but not fire spicy). The food is plentiful (in fact, I managed four meals out of my take-out that I ordered, with ease!). This place is my favorite restaurant ever. However, I have one small issue with this place: the food is so bountiful that most people couldn't down it all in one sitting (although I had a date down the entire plate once which was mildly disturbing, I must say) therefore, a date meal might not be the best choice unless you don't mind wasting food or unless it is your last stop before you go home so you can put your doggy bag in the fridge. Otherwise, I will always choose El Burro over Spago or The Ivy any day! hehe By the way, my favorite dish there is the Beef Enchilada's.
