Eichten's Market & Cafe

I went to Eichten's yesterday to get some buffalo meat and other items. I was happy with what I bought, but was extremely disappointed that they did not have their American flag at half mast in memory of the 26 children lost in the Newtown, Connecticut shooting. I will not shop there again. more

My family and I whent in before the dinner rush. The place was empty, no one greated us. We sat forever and listened to the chef argue and berate the staff. The atmosphere was uncomfortable. Our server was indiferent and didn't want to be there. Our childrens bison burgers was overpriced with moldy cheese and stale bread. My steak was bland and undercooked and I would of sent it back had the sever returned to the table. The portion size of my husbands pasta was tiny. Then again there was a blond hair in it, so he stopped eating after a few bites. We stoped for fast food on our way home. Didn't bother with the overpriced beer as it was out in the middle of no where and didn't want to risk a ticket. The place was trying to pass themselves off as being upscale by failing by a long shot. more

This place rocks! The great little cheese shop has a HUGE variety of gouda cheese! I hear the Eichten's family studied in Belgium on how to make the gouda cheese...let me tell you...you can taste it! \r \r The bistro connected to the cheese shop is AWESOME!!! I had the special of the night and it was Bison Tenderloin with Gorgonzola sauce with fingerling potatoes,& spring onions over asparagus! My boyfriend had the Bison Burger that had a Tilsit cheese (homemade and sold in the store) that was so juicy! \r \r HIGHLY Recommend. They have a lot of Belgium Beer as well! \r more
