They are the absolute WORST. I had a new heating system installed a few years ago, I had nothing but problems. I had more service calls (no less than 10) ,different technicians, factory reps, they even called another company to fix the issues they couldn't figure out.
After three years of problems, plus damage to my home, (they over humidified my home causing mold in the window sills, damaged my hardwood floor) I refused to deal with them.
This past winter I had to replace the gas (propane) furnace, 7 years after I purchased because it basically rotted out due to it being installed incorrectly from the beginning with the way the venting and/condensate was set up. Bear in mind, this gas furnace is the back up/auxiliary to my heat pump, not even my main source of heat or hot water.
I called to complain and stated they were responsible and asked what they were going to do. I was in contact with the general manager, Roy Young, between phone calls and emails ( a minimum of 6 times), I was patient while they dealt with the cold winter, giving them the benefit of being busy. Mr. Young told me repeatedly they would make good on it some how, he wasn't sure what, but they would stand behind it, and he was having conversations on the matter with the owner (Henry)
After 6+ weeks of waiting, today I was told they will not do anything for me. They refused to honor their word or stand behind what they did.
Do yourself a favor, call anyone else in the area for your heating and/or air conditioning needs. DO NOT USE EDWIN STIPE. they will take your money, cause more problems than they solve, and then refuse to stand behind their work (incompetency).
