About the negative reviews... 3/1/2010

There's no truth to them. Dr Edmonstone is as professional and compassionate of a dentist as you'll ever meet. If by the age of six a kid is still screaming, crying, and afraid of the dentist, it's more a sign of bad parenting than of a bad dentist. Parents like Melissa are the reason why kids are so spoiled, bratty, and out of control today. I'm glad Dr Edmonstone put that little brat in her place! more

No patience for a pediatric dentist! 4/21/2009

If in any way you have a child apprehensive about going to the dentist. Don't go to Dr. Edmonstone! He has no patience with children whatsoever, he is long overdue for retirement. Our visit turned my daughter off to the dentist for a long time, it became very stressful. We had a very similar incident as Melissa T when my daughter cried he became frustrated immediately, ending up telling us to come back after being scary to a young girl. If you have a bad first experience it stays with your child. DON"T DO IT!!!!!!HE IS SHAMEFUL! more

Has no buisness working with children!!! 10/25/2007

My family moved to old saybrook over the summer and I choose "Dr." Edmonstone as my daughters pediatric dentist because of the review I saw online, well let me tell you what a mistake that was!!!! The first visit was fine when my daughter was calm and didn't make a peep, I was impressed with how he drilled her teeth with out causing any fear i had explained to him how she had a bad experience with her previous dentist and she was very apprehensive about coming to him, well the second visit was today and my daughter who just turned 6 was feeling nervous and was crying well he forged foward and gave her the novicane wich was fine but when he started to work on her she started crying and squirming around a bit and he was still coming at her with instruments telling her she was to old to behave this way and she needed to stop and when she almost gagged from him trying to continue the procedure he told me they were going to have to "wrap her up, or make another appointment because she is to old to misbehave like this" well I'm sorry but I think a little girl crying because she is nervous about a drill coming at her isn't misbehaving , I think a pediatric dentist should maybe be a little more patient and not berate a child who is already scared of dentists, this man had about as much understanding and compassion as a robot,I would NEVER go there or EVER recommend anybody send there child there. more

Great pediatric dentist 10/27/2005

Dr. Edmonstone specializes in pediatric dentistry. They are located right off of Main Street in Old Saybrook (across from the fire station). Ample parking in front of and in back of the building. One visit to the office and it is obvious that they cater to kids. Their waiting room is filled with toys to help relax your youngster. All of the equipment is specially sized for kids too. Their chairs and mirrors are all the perfect height for little ones. He has been my daughters dentist since the age of two and I cannot recommend them enough. They are very professional and caring to all of the kids and parents aswell. more
