Happy Mother's Day thanks to Edmart! My sister and I wanted to do somethng nice for Mother's Day so we planned a surprise bbq. We did a litttle research and read that Edmart has the best hot dogs. So early this week we called and placed an order for hot dogs and a few salads plus chips and a few other things for our bbq. We had a lot of family coming and we were super excited. On Friday evening it started raining and my sister and I started freaking out. We had almost thirty people coming over and if the weather was bad (they hadn't been predicting rain in the forecast) we couldn't bbq. It probably wasn't a big deal except my family isn't exactly known for being good cooks and there was no way we could cook for that many people especially on such short notice. I called Edmart in a panic on Saturday morning and they were so incredibly nice. They let us totally change the order from hot dogs to a few sandwich platters (granted it was a little more expensive) on short notice and they even delivered the trays to us which was nice becasue we live in Towson. I have to say upfront we'd never had there sandwiches before but oh my God they were so good. We had brisket, pastrami, corned beef and turkey and they were all way beyond our expectations. The whole thing was so easy including clean up. To say they saved our Mother's Day was an understatement and I will order from them again for Father's Day and I hope this time we can actually have our bbq. Pros: food, ordering more

Delicious corned beef and brisket, which you don't really find anymore. Love the chopped liver, which to be honest I don't really eat much these days since I'm watching my cholesterol but the stuff here is so good it;s hard to resist it. Love the bagels and you'll always get a laugh from the countermen. I discovered this place recently because they catered my nephews bar mitzvah brunch. Now I;m a regular there. When I;m there by myself I sit and read the paper while I have lunch or I talk to the guys behind the counter. Okay, first let me start by saying that the delis I know in New York could take a lesson from this place. Service was friendly and the food was divine. When I was young, we used to have food like this in Manhattan. It's funny I have to come to Baltimore to find it now. The corned beef was out of this world. I also got to try the brisket, and I must say it was amazing as well. Both meats were perfectly seasoned, and also moist. The man behind the counter also gave me a sample of lox, and I bought a lox, bagel and cream cheese right on the spot to have for breakfast tomorrow (I'm traveling for work and the hotel doesn't serve much for breakfast.) Edmart has been my family's favorite deli ever since we moved to Baltimore! The brisket and corned beef are out of this world, fresh and moist, and my sons gobble up the turkey as soon as I get it home! Last time we stopped in, the manager Shelley gave us a sample of the Berger cake, which is to die for! The frosting was chocolatey heaven and we bought one right then just to have around the house, even though we had already received a lot of holiday treats. The cake was the first thing to disappear! My mother passed away and we sat shiva the first week in Sept. A friend very generously arranged a credit for food from Edmart. When the person from Edmart called they tried very hard to talk me out of ordering food. I told them I would like to have a hot brisket dinner for 8 people for the next evening. The next day I called and they told me there was no such order. I called back twice and finally a friend called and re-ordered the dinner. We asked if they had string beans or any green vegetable to include with the dinner we were told no. It took several phone calls to get directions to my home which has been in the same place for 40 years! That afternoon we received a delivery and promptly refrigerated it. At dinner time we took out the ""brisket"" to warm it and found it was not brisket at all but an entire tray of string beans! I got on the phone with Edmart ( remember they told me they don't have string beans) and they insisted on sending the hot brisket dinner. By this time the family was getting ready to eat and services would begin shortly. The women I spoke to insisted she would deliver hot brisket and have it there on time. She called me four more times to get directions to my house. Obviously they don't have a computer or GPS. She got lost getting to my house. The brisket finally arrived and it was NOT a hot brisket in gravy but dried up brisket as if they took the already sliced brisket that is used for deli sandwiches and microwaved it. It was like trying to eat beef jerky!!. It was so awful we threw it away. \r I dealt with 3 different delis that week. Edmart's was without a doubt the worst service, the most unprofessional, and the worst brisket ever. All the woman from Edmart kept saying to me was ""please don't call me stupid, please don't call me stupid."" each time she called again for directions. I never did call her stupid. I waited till shiva was over and wrote this review. People- stick with Gourmet Again. Gourmet Again could not have done a better job than they did. They were wonderful. Losing a loved one is stressfull enough, but EDMART just added to my stress. they really don't deserve the one star i gave them, but i was require to rate them. the rating should be minus 10! more
