I HAD A 1993 CHEVY CAVALIER THAT HAD NO OIL PRESSURE AND WOULD STOP RUNNING AFTER IT GOT HOT. THE LADY I BOUGHT IT FROM SAID IT NEEDED AN OIL PUMP. THE MANAGER ""TOMMY"" GAVE ME AN ESTIMATE IN THE $300.00 RANGE. AFTER I TOOK THE CAR IN FOR REPAIR THEY CALLED AND SAID THEY NEEDED MORE MONEY, THEY DOUBLED THE PRICE. THIS IS AN OLD MECHANIC TRICK. TEAR DOWN YOUR ENGINE AND THEN JACK UP THE PRICE. I ENDED UP PAYING APPROX. $800.00 AND BEFORE I COULD GET HOME WITH CAR IT STOPPED RUNNING AND STILL HAD NO OIL PRESSURE. THE MANAGER SAID AS I WAS LEAVING ""IF I HAD KNOWN HOW OLD YOUR CAR WAS I WOULD NEVER HAD AGREED TO WORK ON IT"". I TOOK THE CAR TO THOMPSON LANE SHELL WHERE DISCOVERED THE CAR HAD A BAD FUEL PUMP. Eddie and his wife own Eddie's Garage. They are very fair and friendly and provide thorough and quick service. When we had to get our car fixed, Eddie called around to five different places to get the cheapest price on the part. There just aren't many places around where you can trust the mechanic to not rip you off. Eddie cares about his customers and many of the people I work with use him over and over again and wouldn't go anywhere else. more
