Eclipse Salon

This salon is so good -- I drive from the Atlanta area every six weeks to have my hair cut and colored. The ambiance is unusual -- a glimpse out the window into downtown Asheville and walls that contain a constantly-changing display of works from local artists. The best part is that the people are friendly, and the stylists are as good or better than anywhere else. Well worth the drive! more

I moved from New York City to Asheville a few months ago and desperately needed a haircut and color. Like most women, I was super nervous about finding a new stylist. After reading multiple reviews online, I decided to call Eclipse, as the reviews seemed to be overwhelmingly positive. I wasn't so worried about the cut, as my hair is very manageable, but I really wanted to find a good colorist. I just saw Carlton for the second time and could not be happier. The cut is great and the color is awesome - he actually did a better job and is more knowledgable than my stylist in NY. He's also very personable and easy to talk to, a huge plus when you're in the chair for 2 hours. Everyone in the salon is very friendly and professional, and overall Eclipse has a professional yet laid-back vibe. I would not hesitate to recommend it, and cannot imagine anyone having a bad experience. more

Being a recent transplant from Colorado, and a former salon owner as well, I was apprehensive about starting all over with someone new. I chose Eclipse first, for it's location. Wall Street is one of my favorite areas of the downtown. I called and spoke with Carlton, also a transplant from Colorado, and he sounded experienced and put me at ease. I felt comfortable the minute I sat in his chair. I am both particular and have difficult hair and he was not only skilled, fast and attentive, he was a just a great person to spend my morning with. My color turned out divine, and he gave me one of the BEST haircuts I have had in Ions. Love Asheville, love Eclipse and love Carlton. more

Tuesdae at Eclipse Salon is the best hairdresser I have ever worked with. Not only is the salon beautiful and comfortable and located in a beautiful part of downtown Asheville, the staff is also friendly. Tuesdae however is a hair and makeup genius. He takes his time with you, asks your opinion about things and has an incredible eye for what will complement your individual face shape and style. I trust Tuesdae's judgment about my look even more than my own. I feel better about my hair than I have in my entire life. Don't go anywhere else. more

I moved to Asheville from San Francisco three years ago and was apprehensive about finding a new salon. A friend literally walked me into Eclipse and insisted that I see Casi as she has a stellar reputation as a consummate stylist. I was immediately comfortable and very, very happy with my cut, the ambience/vibe of the salon, and especially Casi. She is every bit sweet, charming, poised, and skilled and well-deserving of her reputation as an elite stylist at a classy but not fussy salon. Eclipse is wonderful and Casi is amazing and I shudder to think why anyone would write a negative review. We had a brutal winter and businesses in Asheville were shut-down for a few days before Christmas. Casi opened the salon on the Sunday after the blizzard so we could look our best for the holidays which proves her commitment and personal regard for her clients. If you are looking for a comfortable yet highly professional salon experience in Asheville, you can?t do better than Eclipse. I would recommend Casi but it?s hard enough getting an appointment with her as it is! Pros: Sweet, talented people more

To all readers checking out Eclipse Salon's reputation on these pages, don't judge based on one cranky person's bad review. I too have been going to Casi for over three years. I moved here from New York City and nothing I ever had done there compares with Casi's talent or patience. She takes her time with every client, and even called me the day after one of my more "experimental" styles (she dyed my eyebrows to match my hair color), to make sure I was happy. Now even my boss and my boyfriend go to her, and the referrals are lining up. Eclipse is great, the people who work there are great, and Casi's work is fabulous. more

Despite what someone else commented, I have always had the best experience with Casi and Eclipse! I have been going to Casi for years now and have never had one bad experience. In fact I get more compliments on my hair now than I ever have. I have also recommended many of my friends to her as well, and they all love Eclipse and Casi as much as I do. So if your looking for a place to get your hair done in Asheville, go to Eclipse! more

I just moved to Asheville about 2 weeks ago and googled salons in Asheville. Eclipse had great reviews so I called and explained my hair type and asked for a recommendation. The receptionist suggested Kaci.....what a horrible mistake. Not only did she make me feel like she was pressured for time, mentioning that I better hurry up and decide if I wanted it shorter because of time, but she gave me the worst haircut I have ever had. The experience was awful and when I called the next morning to have it fixed, the receptionist told me I could switch hairdressers and they would fix it for free. Then she changed her story and told me I had to go to Kaci or it would cost another 50 dollars. At that point, I did not trust that salon, let alone Kaci. I would never recommend this salon and beware, if you don't like your cut, expect to pay 50 or be treated like dirt and get the cut fixed by the same butcher. more

If you want fairly affordable, yet incredibly professional salon services in a gorgeous atmosphere with exceptional customer service then go to Eclipse Salon. If you can get an appointment with Tuesdae or Frankie. They are AMAZING Pros: great location, beautiful space, incredible staff more

I go only to Eclipse salon and love it. A couple years ago I went to a salon in the mall and my hair was butchered so a friend suggested Kaci at Eclipse since that's where she goes and Kaci did a fantastic job. I thought there was no hope after the horrible job that the other place did but she fixed it right up. They are very personable at Eclipse and they take their time with you. Kaci even straightens my hair after she cuts it and then cuts more if need be. She makes sure it is right before she sends me on my way. I don't trust anywhere else now. It's also neat that when you walk in the door you are offered free water, coffee, or wine. Never been anywhere else that does that. I travel an hour to go there and it is worth it. more

I can easily say that Eclipse Salon is the best salon in town. Its warm and friendly, and feels like a true community experience, and yet their level of professionalism and expertise are what you would expect of a chic salon in New York city or London. Everyone there seems so genuine, and from everything I've seen, they all create some amazing haristyles! I'm definitely hooked- no one else can make me feel so good about myself! Rose is wonderful and it seems the entire staff is very experienced and knowledgable about styles and products. It is clean, comfortable, and a nice atmosphere on funky Wall Street!! more

I am from NY City and , I was visiting relatives in NC and just happen to be walking by this hair salon and decided to get my haircut. My sister thought I was nuts to just walk into a place not knowing anyone... but I have to tell you .. I had the BEST haircut of my life at this salon. Rose was the stylist who cut my hair. She was great, place was nice and people were friendly!!! My haircut was good that I am now scared to have anyone else cut it. I got so many compliments ... I wish I could just go back to get my haircut !! more

everyone there is so nice and welcoming. rose is so fun and creative with my cuts and colors.. and, whenever i go there it seems like i see people there that i didn't even know went there..and, their hair also looks great!! i would recommend any of the stylists there..it is such a relaxing experience, and the styles really last..you don't feel like they grow out wierd or anything. i love this place!! PROS: downtown, close to a parking garage. CONS: more
