If you are looking to walk out of the salon happy and excited about your new hair, Echo is the place to go. I have gotten my hair done twice so far, both times by the awesome Tatjana, and have been extremely happy with the outcome. She was extremely professional and precise. My first visit, she managed to turn my terrible, boxed dyed red hair to a great medium blonde. I made the mistake of going back to box dye on a whim and destroyed my hair. Yesterday, she turned my multicolored hair into a BEAUTIFUL ombre. Trust me, echo is the salon to go to!! :o) more

It's hard to find stylists that can do a good job with men's longer hair styles. Stephanie gave me a great haircut. I went in there with fairly long hair and no particular plan for what to do. She gave me a new look with some long bangs, professional-looking but with a sense of style. I agree with the other reviews regarding the positive friendliness of this salon. Living in LA, I have access to world class salons. The stylists at Echo are professional while having a warm and inviting atmosphere at the same time. I had never had my hair foiled and Stephanie, the owner, did a great job. I love this place and am ready to go back every time I fly to Connecticut. more

When I first went to Echo at age 13, I had just gotten my hair cut by a stylist at another local salon who did an awful job. My ends were uneven and I left with frizzy, unstyled hair. At the time, my stylist was Corinne. She highlighted, cut and styled my hair *and* taught me how to do it all myself. Since then, I've been a devoted patron for 10 years and have had highlights, root color and cuts from all the girls! I've never had a bad experience and have always been treated well (afternoon glass of wine with cheese plate, anyone?) You may have to wait for an appointment, but believe me, you'll be happy you did. :) Pros: great service, treatments, talent - all w/ a shot of humor! Cons: 0 more

As soon as you walk in you get the star treatment!!! I felt at home as I was directed to the chair I would occupy for the next hour or so. Corrine was in charge of my hair and she did a fabulous job!! I loved the time she took with me and the conversation! Everyone there was just so nice!! I don't think ill ever go anywhere else! I love getting my "hair did" at Echo because the girls there are so talented. My color always looks fantastic and if I get my hair blown out by Corinne I really don't want to ever wash it again! I have been a customer of Echo Salon for over 4 years. Prior to discovering Corrine, I was having my hair colored & cut by another salon in CT for over 10 years. As you can imagine how hard it is to trust another hair stylist & to decide to make a switch. Without hesitation, I immediately felt at ease with her & am now a total "Corrine convert". I have been going to Echo Salon for over five years now and have the utmost priveledge of having Corrine do my hair . Each and every time I walk out of there I feel like I have been pampered and caterered to by each and every staff member. The environment is fun and friendly and yet very professioanl. Corrine takes the time to talk to you about what you are looking for in a style. She is constantly going to seminars to learn the lastest in her industry and I feel she brings a little New York and L.A. to our small village of Guilford. My mom has been getting her hair cut and colored by Corrine since Echo opened. I have always been worried about getting my haircut by stylists I do not know. I have had terrible stylists in the past that just cut my hair the way they wanted to. When I moved to CT I needed to find a new salon. My mom told me that I had to go see Corrine, I wouldn't be disappointed. Although I was nervous, I thought I would give her a try. I told her how I felt and she was amazing. She cut my hair exactly how I wanted it done and to my surprise it was better then my old stylists haircut. Now I bring my son to see her as well. Everyone there is wonderful! I feel as if I am part of the echo family! I would highly recommend Corrine!!!! Thanks for giving my mom, son, and myself the best haircuts ever!!! After living in some large cosmopolitan cities, I moved to Madison and could not find anyone who could cut and color hair properly. My search ended when I found Echo 8 years ago. I have always had a great experience at Echo, each time leaving with a huge smile on my face! Each stylist has their own style and expertise, and you can mix and match or change stylists whenever you want, its one big happy family there! I have had each and every one of the stylists there and I love them all! Stephanie (the owner) encourages a warm and open atmosphere, and you always feel you are getting the best cut and color in the area! I cant say enough about each of them, Jill, Corrine, Amy, MG, Stephanie are all wonderful and unique! I would recommend them all without hesitation!!! I have been to ECHO twice now. The first time Corinne, the co-owner, cut my bangs and did an okay job. It cost $15. I thought that I would try her again for my full hair cut a couple weeks later. The entire time she was cutting my hair she was talking about her evening out the night before to other employees and hardly said two words to me. I usually get my hair cut at upscale-ish hair salons that charge $55-60 for just a hair cut. I am used to that price. Even though ECHO has the look of an upscale salon, the quality and knowledge do not fit the decor. I was very dissapointed in my hair cut as my layers were uneven and I had to point out many areas that Corinne had missed while cutting my hair. She is the co-owner and did not have the professionalism to talk to her client or to take the time to double check her work. I am not going back there ever again, and I am so mad at myself that I paid $70 for my hair to be cut by such an amateur hair "designer." Echo Salon is a fantastic salon. As a past resident of Guilford, who relocated to Philadelphia, I make the 3 1/2 hour drive to have my hair done by Stephanie! After trying numerous salons in Philadelphia, Echo by far exceeds any experience and expectation that one would have. The salon provides incredible services with a highly talented team of designers. You feel like the priority and your happiness is their goal. Thanks Echo for setting the bar high!! more

I live in NYC, and come to Echo Salon to get my hair highlighted and cut. They do a fantastic job, it is a really cool place (located right in downtown Guilford--so you can walk to coffee shops, etc.), and it is at an unbeatable price. Stephanie (owner) is amazing, but all the stylists are excellent. I highly recommend Echo (as does my Mother who lives in Guilford)! I think they just won an award for best salon recently, too. You should really check it out if you are anything but thrilled with your current salon or looking for a new place to cut, color or style your hair! This salon has talent. I see Jeff for my highlights and hair cut. He is the best in the business. His work is exceptional and consistent. His knowledge of color is outstanding. I am always impressed with what he can do with my hair. He listens to what I want. To top it off he has a great personality and the staff is very friendly and accommodating. They also sell top of the line products. I always look forward to my appointment. I am so happy there is a "City Search" otherwise being new to CT, I would have never found this quality salon.
