One of the best massages I've ever had 8/12/2007

I went to Eastside Massage based on the positive reviews on this site and it all lived up to the great reviews. Had an hour and a half massage with Nicole who was wonderful. I walked out of there feeling less tense and stressed. The great price plus the quality of the service equaled a wonderful experience. I will definitely be back again. more

All the way from Brooklyn! 3/1/2007

What a great place! I have been to many other places throughout the city, and Eastside is the best by far. The therapists are exceptional and extremely skilled in their craft. Every therapist I have worked with is unique in their style, and offers a wonderfully relaxing massage. Whether I am sore and achy, or just plain tired, Eastside Massage is the place to go! Out of the many massages that i have recieved, and they have been many. The therapists from eastside massage have that certain therapeutic touch that i have been looking for. I have been to their location several times already and the experiences have been wonderful. The therapists, as well as the staff are down to earth and friendly which makes it all the better. Definitely worth it (especially at their prices!!!). Pros: great atmosphere more

Excellent massages! 3/1/2007

If you're looking for a really therapeutic massage at a very affordable price, this is a great place. The therapists are very skilled and knowledgeable, and they are also very welcoming. The office has a nice, warm, personal feel to it. This is a great, professional place for a massage, without the unnecessary bravado of most of the city's spas. I go frequently, and I definitely recommend it! Pros: Skilled therapists, not pretentious, great price! more

highly recommended for athletes! 1/16/2007

I just finished my 1st marathon and I'm definitely going to come here (scheduled my massage today)! I have received massages here before and have been very pleased every time. They ask where you want them to focus on your body, which is great! Not everywhere does that.! My legs get really tight after 20 miles and this is the only place I would trust with my legs! Pros: service, staff more

Great rate, wonderful massages, and total relaxation 11/4/2006

I have worked with two different massage therapists at Eastside Massage Therapy clinic so far, and both sessions were extremely relaxing. It was just what I needed from the stressful college workload I have been baring, and for the back pain I have been enduring from the textbooks I carry daily in my school bag! The price is very inexpensive for a Manhattan location. My first massage from a professional massage therapist here was amazing, and she was even nice enough to give me a Massage 101 of the many different types of massages (Shiatsu, Swedish, Trigger Point, deep tissue, etc.). Her strength is very great, and her work on the entire body is so soothing. The room settings are very pleasant. The employees there are very nice. I highly recommend Eastside! more

You can't beat Eastside for value. The price is right ($75 for an hour), but they could charge double that because the massages there are so amazing. All of the massage therapists are great and can use many different techniques to best fit your needs. Highly professional and the center is very welcoming. One of the best things is that you can almost always get an appointment for the same day you call. more

Excellent massage - great value! 3/15/2005

I just recently had a 60 minute massage here - I didn't specify exactly what kind of massage I wanted, instead, I told my masseuse that I was generally stressed and achy and waited to see what she suggested - she seemed to know exactly what I needed, and proceeded to give me the most wonderful combination of firm pressure, light relaxing touches and joint manipulation I have ever experienced. She checked with me now and then that the pressure or focus was what I wanted, but she was always right on target. And to top it off, when it was time to pay, they gave me the discount for first-time clients without me even asking or showing the coupon I'd printed off the internet. Plus, they didn't try to sell me anything! I'll definitely be going back. Pros: professional, skilled, great price more

Editorial
  • The Scene
Nowadays, people expect the interior design and sundry decorations to contribute to the release of tensions that have motivated their massage. Eastside Massage, with its plain, clinical setting, may leave you disappointed in this regard. But when you're lying on your stomach, with a pair of highly competent hands on your back, do you really care if the walls are mottled periwinkle or institutional beige? The dexterous polish of these practioners outshines the unvarnished offices and has won the center recognition from national publications. So close your eyes and ignore the space heater.

    The Services
For owner Robin Ehrlich, massage is a matrilineal tradition. Her mother was a massage therapist. So was her maternal Austrian grandmother. That bloodline serves her (and her lucky clients) well. Ehrlich's deep muscle massage is sensational--the specialty of the house. Her high regard for her staff (who practice shiatsu and Swedish, as well as deep tissue) means you're always in good hands.

    The Details
    Massage, body treatments, Reiki.
