EXCELLENT SERVICE 12/6/2010

I highly recommend this shop! Andrea was very helpful and patient as I researched fabrics, and her father did an amazing job restoring my grandmother's chair. Definitely plan to use their services again should the need arise, and so will those who have sat in the chair. Amazing. more

Highly Recommended 8/15/2010

We had two chair cushions reupholstered here recently, and the entire experience was perfect: Andrea was pleasant and helpful and responsive, and her father's work was exceptional. They originally projected that it would take two weeks, but it took only five days. I certainly won't go anywhere else for upholstery work. more

old chair like new again! 6/18/2010

I took a 1960's vintage chair here to be reupholstered. Andrea was so nice and helpful and I choose a fabric from their many decorator books. But I wasn't convinced I had found the best fabric for the chair. So I went fabric shopping in Manhattan and rounded up many new choices. I called Andrea and said, Hey, can I come back and look at the chair again. She said Sure! Andrea and I looked at all the new fabrics together and she was so patient while I made up my mind. In the end we decided on using the fabric that was our original choice. A few weeks later Andrea contacted me to say the chair was ready. I picked it up 2 days ago and it is beautiful. The fabric is gorgeous, and the craftmanship is impressive. This is the kind of business that reminds you of another time when Ma & Pa businesses kept the customers happy. I definitely recommend Eastern Parkway Reupholstery. Andrea and her father are people you will trust who take their time to make sure your furniture will look great. Reupholstery with Attention to Detail 5/16/2009

My husband and I just got married in February. Previously he had his own place, and I had mine. So once we got married, we moved in together ad had to decide what we'd keep and what we wouldn't. We decided to keep his antique camelback sofa. However, it was in need of a major reupholstery job because his cat had done a major number on it. The fabric was torn in various places and the stuffing was peeking through. We weren't sure who to trust the job with so we browsed the Internet until we found very favorable reviews for Eastern Parkway Reupholstery on CitySearch. We first dealt with Andrea, who is the daughter in this Colombian family-owned shop. She gave us all the pricing info and even sent us photos of similar work they had done to make sure it met our requirements. They estimated the job would take 6-8 weeks and it actually took about 7, so they were right on target. When they delivered the item, we were so pleased with the work. It was jut beautifully done, very solid work. They even cleaned up and polished the wood, and also tightened the frame and reglued the joints so that it wasn't wobbly like before. Prices are very reasonable by NY standards. We paid $1100 or so which included two bolster pillows (price did not include the fabric, which we bought separately). Great quality upholsterers! 1/5/2009

I bought a wing backed chair at a second hand store. It had great bones but the fabric was hideous! I brought the chair to Eastern Parkway Upholstery and had it covered in a zebra print. Not only did they do a meticulous job on the upholstery, they replaced the chair foam. They also cleaned the existing chair legs and polished them so well that they looked as if they had been replaced. It is a family run business and their attention to detail and service is unparalleled. I am looking forward to a long relationship with this excellent craftsman! Thanks for a great job. more

Great Selection of Fabrics and Amazing Job 9/2/2008

I had 4 dinette chairs done and 1 ottoman. The owner did such an amazing job. He restore the wood frame and put new padding on my chairs. The store has a lot of good fabric books to choose from, especially if you are looking for something hip and stylish, you should check out their fabric prints. I selected a trendy floral print that featured a beatuiful bold green. The fabric was composed of viscose and cotton. This is a nice blend to consider, if you want the fabric to last a long time. I had no complaints to say about this shop in Brooklyn. Im very pleased!!! more

Extremely pleased =) 5/28/2008

We had a couch and two wing chairs from my grandmother that desperately needed to be reupholstered. We provided the fabric and Eastern Parkway Reupholstery did the work. When we went to go see the finished product at the shop, we were extremely pleased with the workmanship. Like someone else said in one of the other reviews - they were able to match every little detail. They did a beautiful job. And in looking at some of the other pieces in the shop - it looks like they do beautiful work on all sorts of furniture. I would highly recommend them. love my sectional and chairs!! 5/4/2008

LOL, I was reading the comment below and all I got to say for you is, ""DON'T JUDGE A BOOK BY IT'S COVER."" On the contrary, I received the best service at Eastern Parkway, I called for an estimate and they told me I had three options: A. either for them to go out to my house with fabric books and give me an estimate (there is an estimation fee), B. Avoid the estimation fee and simply take a picture of the furniture and send it via-e-mail or C. come to the store and show them a picture. If you don't want to pay a fee, simply do B or C!!! LOL, Anyway, I e-mailed them a picture of my 4 piece modern sectional and 2 1950's living room chairs that I love!! I purchased my own material online for my sectional. I picked a beautiful white vinyl, which the fabric came a little bit pricey, but I don't care. I want the best quality material for my piece!! For the chairs, I picked a fabric from Eastern Parkway. They carried a lot of retro-fabric,s which were beautiful prints. If you are into modern fabrics, you should check out their prints. It took them 3 weeks to have everything finished, I am very contend with the service they provided. I do recommend this place for upholstery service. Worst service EVER!!!! And all i wanted was a quote! 4/22/2008

I asked why a charge for an estimate, ""Oh, he's been doing this for 40 years."" Not a good enough reason, as i've had free estimates from other people in BKLYN with 30/more years experience. Then she suggested send a photo via email, i said he can quote on a 2 cushion sofa from an email -- her response oh it's a love seat -- NO IT""S A 3 PERSON SOFA. I am very happy this was not my first call for an estimate -- there are a lot more professional people out there than using Eastern Parkway! Go in search for a better place, because first impressions -- this is a bad one! Cons: First impression with Andrea -- wouldn't give her my money! more

Excellent, professional reupholstering 2/14/2008

Eastern Parkway Reupholstery rescued my sofa! I purchased a Grid sofa from Design Within Reach some years ago. The sofa was covered in an attractive gun metal gray fabric, but had no scotchgard, or any way to protect the covering from normal wear and tear. When I moved at the end of 2007, I had to something about the covering. It was a mess. Eastern Parkway Reupholstery was the answer! Now my wonderful sofa is covered in a beautiful coffee colored micro-fiber that will look great for years. Excellent workmanship and first-class service throughout the entire process. great service, great work 12/24/2007

We had our 4seater sofa reupholstered and the work done was great. We provided our own fabric and wanted it to look exactly like it was before. Every detail was matched, the double piping is very well executed and it was finished on time. We comparison shopped and this was by far the best price for the work as well as the least amount of fabric quoted necessary to finish the job.\r We highly recommend this business. Wonderful Work: 10 Piece Furniture done 9/12/2007

3 months ago I purchased a sofa, love seat, 2 wing chairs and 6 dinette chairs at the Macys Furniture Store. I love the style of the furniture, but I hated the fabric that was on it. I had all the pieces re-upholster. My cousin told me about this place located in Brooklyn and how the owner did such a gorgeous job on her sectional furniture. My goodness, the owner took 4 weeks to have it done, which I honestly thought he was going to take 2 months to do. I liked the fast service he provided for my furniture. At the store, the owner carried A LOT of fabric books. I was stunned to see sooo much fabric at the store. My favorite fabric were the Artmark and Douglass books. I selected a stripe fabric for my sofa and love seat. I know stripe fabric must be complicated for the upholster to work on, since he has to match the lines from the back, front, cushions and skirt on the sofa. He did a perfect job in matching all the stripes from head to toe... Literally!!!! He did a stunning job. Pros: fabric books, fast service, nice owner, beautiful work! more

Just Like New 5/24/2007

Excellent Job. I was highly impressed with the work. I had my Castro bed reupholster. I provided with my own fabric, but they did such an excellent job in changing EVERYTHING. The labor price was worth it. The job was done pretty quickly. The owner finished the job in 2 weeks! If you are looking for an excellent job, than this is the right place. more

This is a nicely and meticulously run shop by a great -- and super responsive dad and daughter team (Hugo and Andrea). We took some vintage mid-century chairs, an antique chair and 2 Saarinen chairs and they did a wonderful, high quality job -- and the prices were amazing [reupholsting in NYC can be so outrageously expensive]. We were extremely happy with the quality, service, prices and turn around.\r \r The shop also offer a great selection of Artmark fabrics [great fabrics but terrible website].\r \r Not only will you get great re-upholstery job back - but you're also supporting a small biz Brooklyn shop. more
