Eastern Light Getaway

One star is being too kind! I have been on many ELG ski trips but this one I was just on Feb 28-Mar 2nd has got to be thee worst ever. We were scheduled to depart at 5pm. However our bus was broken down & was not replaced until 8pm when they told us it would be at our location at 5:15. After loading the bus, we still had to make another pick up. We didn't even get on the road until 9:30pm having us arrive at the Eisenhower at 11:35pm. Check in was more than a half hour because there were only 2 ladies checking all of us in. We missed the Rep Your City meet & greet with refreshments and the Walmart run. Open bar until 2am? Yeah right!!! Thay ran out of drinks at 1:15am!!! Saturday morning breakfast was cold!! People signed up for bowling only to get there and it was CLOSED. They were then told ""Oh that was last weekends activities"" Why was that even made an option if it was for last week? Laser tag was right across the road but guess what? People had to find that out on their own because that was NOT one of the options on the activities list. Not only did they run out of food for Saturdays dinner but Sundays as well. Sunday, they replaced baked tilapia with BOXED FROZEN FISH STICKS!! Talk about cutting the budget way too short!! On Saturday, the game room was open but there were NO games going on. I guess we were supposed to bring our own huh? NONE of the equipment in the fitness room worked. One of our outlets didnt work so we had to unplug a lamp so we could charge our phones so now of course we dont have proper lighting in our room. The maintenance man told us to jiggle the plug because the outlet was really loose. Yeah ok!!! And kill ourselves?? I think NOT!!! I asked housekeeping to clean our room TWICE and they NEVER DID. As I stated before, I have been on many ski trips but this one was VERY VERY DISAPPOINTING!! We had an extra body on the bus so the CIC had to ride back seating on the steps of the bus. ALL OF THESE ISSUES COULD HAVE BEEN AVOIDED but like I said, I guess they wanted to cut the budget this year. This is unacceptable and I will not do another ELG event as this put a serious damper on my bday weekend \r more

2B on the Road Travel Club, started out with a meet & greet at my house Friday at 4:00pm, we boarded the bus at 6:00pm and did stop until Sunday night when we got off the bus. We had a wonderful ski weekend in February. The whole weekend was filled with activity, something to do every minute. I didn’t have to leave the hotel at all. I dance until 4:00am each night/morning. I couldn’t participate in all the activities because I had to rest. I can’t wait to go on my next trip. I will be seeing you Eastern Light Getaways for the Crab Feast in July, book my group. The only thing that could have made it better is if it was FREE. \r \r more

Eastern Lights Getaways is the way to go. I say this based off of my personal experiences touring with Eastern Lights. All activities were well planned and organized. The staff was very professional and friendly. They made my birthday weekend the best I ever had. I highly recommend this comapny. more

I was very disappointed with eastern light getaway over our weekend getaway ski trip on 2/8/13 2/10/13. The entertainment was cancelled and they gave us other groups, but the comedian was not paid so that person did not perform. We did pay for that person whomever it was. Plus they had us to believe that we were staying at the remodeled hotel and put us in the back hotel that is so old it's a dump. I didn't like the fact that Eastern Light Getaways sent our first groups to North Carolina to perform. With some of the breakfast meats could have had a little more variety. They put the shrimps out after everyone had already eating. The hotel was a mess and they had the nerve to inspect our room like we did something to it. My nephew's wife couldn't make the trip at the last second, your company would not allow us to put someone in the room with him so he wouldn't lose his $375.00. I don't see anything wrong with switching another person to take the place of another. But because your company is so greedy I look at it like your company is like a con man. But because our group did go to party we had to make the best of it. I had a good time. But in the near future please don't do this to us again, it was our first time using your company and you would have thought that you would take care of us to keep us coming back. more

I can't wait to see what winter trips will come next year. Every year I go I have a blast. I love the comedians and all of the entertainment. I was suprised when they started having the concerts at one main arena, but i enjoyed it all the same so either way it doesn't matter. The best shows, at an affordable price! more

I have been traveling with ELG for the past few years. I find the staff to be second to none. The trips are affordable, hotel accomodations and food worth the money. The weekend is packed with activities making the time soar. The concerts have been very exciting. I have used Eastern Light Getaways for 5 years now and love the trips. The concerts rock and the entertainers show up. I have seen Fantasia, Frankie Beverly and the Maze and this past winter The Isley Brothers and Stephanie Mills. Alot of great memories made with friends and family. We love the PJ party on Friday night and always dress for the occasion its so fun. The open bar is just that open and they always have a great selection of drinks. We hit the outlet stores for shopping on Saturday and the casino on Sunday. The hotels are always clean and very nice. Definetly try out a tour you will have a great time. more

I have done many trips with Eastern Light both Ski trips and Seafood Getaways and all of my experiences have been wonderful the staff at Eastern Light overall works with u Julie who has been my representative from day one has always been there for any problems or questions I have had..From the Pj Parties to the Comedy Shows, Pool parties also the Theme parties my groups have always had a ball..Open Bar is exactly that with no complaints.. The Hotels that I have been to I rarely had complaints if so they were handled I do recommend going thru Eastern Light for your next getaway for I have experienced nothing but the Best!!!! more

I have been doing these kind of trips now for several years. I have also used other companies but none compare to what ELG has given me in concerts,activities,hotel comfort,and customer service. No other Tour Operator has given me Top Knotch entertainment (that really shows up) like ELG. Always plenty of food to go around and the bar was always fully stocked withTopShelf brands that my friends and I enjoy to drink(Henny,Aliza,Barcardi,Absolute ect). Our trip was fun from start to finish starting from our luxury bus (we called it THE PARTY BUS)to our 1st nite @ the Pj party. I read some of the pass reviews and must say if your hotel changed ""U PAID LATER THEN 30 DAYS B4 THE TRIP"" as there Tour Agreement states. Any issues with the hotel stay should be address with the hotel cause at the end of the day I don't think ELG owns the hotels or the buses they just rent them. There has been some rowdy ppl on these trips I have been on but if you were talk to as if you were a child then maybe u or part of your group deserved it (just a thought) anyway this is my review of this company and there trips that I have attended in the past and plan on doing in the future......YO GO EASTERN LIGHT YA'LL ARE THE BOMB!!! more

First of all I'd like everyone to know that I am of sound mind and body when I say this I'm surprized that this company was even given a license to operate. I would like to commend ""Joe Scandariato"" our bus driver on bus #233 that got us all safely from point A to B while dealing with rudeness from our so-called tour guides. Now speaking of the tour guides they were some of the most disfunctional, unorganized people I'd seen. They treated the adults like children, there were never any clear guidance on all of the events, one of the tour guides cursed at us and most of the time did not know how to get to half the events and the acommadations weren't the greatest at the Eisenhower Hotel. The concert wasn't bad but would have been better if we were told exactely when to get on the busses to get back to the hotel. The best meal was the last day and that ain't saying much. They charge a whole lot of money for a whole lot of nothing. So, if you want a weekend getaway where the food sucks, you get cursed at and you get treated like a child? Don't join the military just go on an Eastern Light Getaway! Not! more

I've been a promoter from Philly for over 20 years. The last four I have been organizing trips with this company. Tours are inexpensive and a great value which is good for my group. Since they added concerts it has helped me grow my group base, too. A real WIN - WIN! more

If I could give this company a minus 10 I would. This was the worst experience ever for the15 of us and the crab feast was a crab mob! No crowd control, no guidance, no class, just a hot MESS! Roaches at the Eisenhower in Gettysburg, PA. The crabfeast was held at the Six Flags park; most of us were over 40 and had NO desire to be at an amusement park, the food was horrible at the feast AND at the Eisenhower. A true rip off and we will NEVER do that again. And they had 1 top shelf drink and that was Hennessy...the rest was mid-shelf at best. What a rip off and false advertisement for the 8/12/11-8/14/11 trip! more

I went away on the Feb. 25th weekend and had the best time. My hotel room was beautiful and the food at the hotel was good. The Eastern Light Getaways staff and hotel staff were very helpfuI. I was able to go outlet shopping. My favorite part was the concert seeing Trina, Ric Ross and Ludacris. I was sad when my weekend ended. I made new friends and can't wait to see them on my next trip!! I will go on another trip and I am bringing more friends along next time. more

Recently back from a blowout concert at Six Flags with this company. The rains couldn't hold my group down as we partied and danced to unbelievable performances by Babyface & Charlie Wilson. Hotel we stayed at allowed us to party all night long too. Bring on the ski trip!!!!! more

Attended ""ski trip"" the weekend of 02/18/11. While the concert featuring Fantasia and Frankie Beverly and Maze, was good, everything else about the weekend was disgraceful. Beginning with the accommodations. How can you justify shipping people off to a hotel in BALTIMORE, when they were expecting a resort in PENNSYLVANIA! Horrible experience. The hotel, in BALTIMORE, was crowed, which means they overbooked this trip by hundreds. If you wanted to do any ""ski/winter activities"", you had to travel an hour away from the hotel in BALTIMORE. The concert was an hour+ from the hotel in BALTIMORE. The customer service was bad, beginning with rude bus drivers and ill prepared and uninformed ""tour guide/hosts"". The buffet food was horrific, even by hotel food standards. It was just terrible. I honestly believe, that this company thought that since there was a lot of alcohol provided, they could get away with providing bad service and just put you up anywhere. They showed a total lack of respect for their customers. NEVER AGAIN! more

I have attended several ski weekends in the past, but this event was the worst.\r \r The staff of EASTERN LIGHTS were unprofessional, rude to the participants. We were basicly left in the cold.\r \r We were told we would be at the HOLIDAY INN EAST. We arrivaed at the LANCASTER HOST, which was in terrible condition, the staff of ELG did not want to here the complaints that over 200 people were placing. The room that I was forced to stay in was floded, had mold up the wall smelled and was told they would not move me.\r \r This is just the begining of the nightmare that my husbabd, my daughter, her girlfriend and I were subjected to from Friday until Sunday afternoon when I could leve and return home.\r \r If you have any common sense please continue and google this company DO NOT LET THEM CONTINUE WITH THESE PRACTICES. more

Been on a number of their trips, So much to do in 48 hrs. Skiing, Shopping, roller skating, ice skating, bowling, snow tubbing, parties and more. Pros: Entertainment, Open Bar, Food, Staff Cons: Not Enough Time To Do All Activities Offered more
