East Hartford Animal Clinic

I've had cats all my life and have had several vets.I used this one for about 4 yrs and spent quite a bit there, since I had 5 cats. One was old and I took him in knowing his time was short. Before going in, I called to ask if I could post-date a check and I got the okay. I ALWAYS pay my bills. I was just afraid to use my bank card because my paycheck wouldn't be deposited till the next day. As I sat in the waiting room, I observed the office mgr get into a snit over my check. I heard her call me a liar. I was furious! Obviously, the girl I spoke to and this woman misunderstood what I asked to do regarding the date I wrote on my check. The mgr was a shrew and tried to argue w/ me. I told her I was upset over my pet and the way she talked about me in front of everyone and I refused to deal w/ her. She rolled her eyes at me and stomped off because I wouldn't indulge her nasty behavior. All that drama over a check dated for the very next day. I started going to this vet last summer. We have five animals in the house, dogs and cats, and have been very happy with this office. The reception staff is fabulous, very efficient and always pleasant. I have found that most of their prices are much more reasonable than my previous vet charged (Veterinary Specialists in West Hartford). Dr Kane was particularly pleasant and helpful, but has unfortunately left the practice. Dr. Barrios is more businesslike and seems more pressed for time. I have been very happy with all services rendered and my animals all seem to do well with the staff at this office. more

The hospital is VERY clean. The receptionists are warm (even when they are very busy) . The nurses are fantastic! There is one nurse that has been there for a while and she and Dr. Barrios are the best. They work so well together and really take the time to explain all issues with my pets. I have also had my pets groomed and boarded there and was also VERY pleased with the services. The prices are reasonable and I did not feel they tried to sell me any unnecessary products. Would HIGHLY rec. bringing your pets to this hospital:) more

I use this business for my two cats and for the most part I am satisfied with their business. They take good care of my pets. Although they can be pretty pricey. Just be careful, they try to sell you their products and you have to learn to say no or it will end up costing you. PROS: Great care for pets CONS: try to sell products you don't really need more
