After working just two days with Earthtec I resigned my position due to numerous things. I am a dedicated, honest, and devoted employee but I felt the work environment was very volatile, dysfunctional, and the daily operations do not comply with the Utah Labor Laws in which a lawsuit is just waiting to happen. I am well aware of the construction schedules and I was told in the summer I might have to work some over time which was fine and understood. I was unaware that I would be expected to work 9 to ''whatever the _____"" as they called it (not professional what so ever, they swore all the time), I wasn't told I was to drive clear to Orem for one to two weeks for training which wasn't discussed and was under the impression I was to travel to Ogden, so had to change my current car pool arrangments, the office equipment is outdated and almost inoperable. Any business owner that wants a profitable company would ensure the office equipment is not only functioning but fast enough to run the office without wasting a lot of the companies money in the long run and assisting the clients without experiencing ''office equipment errors''. The customers/clients not only should be first, but not have to wait and hold up their operations due to lack of updating office equipment and lack of organization. The way the prior perm/temporary even the current employees were talked about in inappropriate, discriminating manners was unacceptable and quite honestly made me question not only their integrity but made me realize why the turn over rate is substantial within Earthtec. The temp Assistant didn't show up the day I started and when all the employee's warned me and talked about how many employee's they have gone through in such a short time in a joking manner it honestly made me quite nervous. The Ogden branch Manager said horrible things about the one employee said he was worthless because he was going to school and he tried not to give him any hours and has fired him three times but kept him on in hopes he would quit to avoid having to pay unemployment. The way the Corporate Office Manager and and the Ogden Branch Manager said the owner of the company speaks to his employees and belittles them telling them they are stupid and calling them inappropriate names, it was disturbing, disrespectful, unacceptable and they will continue not only the high turnover rate within the company but also give the company bad reputation and a potential lawsuit in which the company will eventually go under. It was so bad I looked for a candid camera and thought to myself ""Is this a joke?"". I am not the type to complain and report this but with all that happened and all that I saw I had to do something about it to let others know and be aware of such a company.
