Certainly this ENT practice provides good medical treatment in their field, but they are experts at squeezing money from insurance provider and patients by performing as many procedures as they can. Some procedures may only be remotely related to the reason you requested their help. I my case I went in with ""right ear"" discomfort and hearing issue. They first performed a ""Nasal Endoscopy"" ($343) but found no problem. Next, they checked my left ear and found no problem. Finally, they looked my ""right ear"" and removed tissue from deep in my ear canal for a reasonable fee of $100. Problem Solved!!!! I was happy until I got a bill for $713 ($270 for new patient consult, $343 for the nasal endoscopy and $100 to correct the cause of my problem. I contacted BCBS of GA for advice. They reviewed the claim and simply stated that unnecessary procedures were probably employed by ENT Institute, but there was nothing they could do. Suggested that I contact ENT Institute which I did (Penny, the Billing Manager). That was a waste of time. Penny is ""like a recorded message"" and she is not allowed to let you speak with anyone else. I asked to be contacted by the Physician (Dr. Alvarez), but according to Penny, the doctors DO NOT talk to patients about the procedures they perform. \r
My suggestion.....go anywhere other than the ENT Institute.
