Duval Taxi

I called from the hospital and asked for a pick-up, gave him my name and number etc. Dispatcher said it would be about 20 minutes. Now mind you, within the hospital, there is NO cell service. So I walk outside about 10 minutes after the initial call, and see I missed a call from the taxi service. He says, well I told the driver never mind because you didn't answer and I thought you found another ride??!!! So, let's move on to driver actually arriving...cab is actually advertising Harell & Harell, I wouldn't put m name anywhere near this company so now I know I will never utilize them. I get in the cab and it is the worst experience I have ever had! I think I might have fleas from the experience, at least in my imagination! The carpet had been worn so thread bare it had multiple holes throughout the van, the stench of BO was horrific, the seats were uncomfortable and the ride in general was literally the worst experience ever. I have been in New York cabs and foreign countries and not had a more assaulting smell than I experienced in a cab as this! They could at least keep the cars cleaned up a bit, it doesn't cost much. more

I called the afternoon before to arrange for a taxi to the airport from Argyle( approximately 28 miles-30 minutes away) at 4am. The lady told me she would be the one in the office at that time so she would call at 330am to confirm. At 325am she calls to tell me that she has no drivers and I need to make other arrangements. Her drivers weren't busy as you might think( still unacceptable but things do happen) no, no one was actually working that night. Luckily Checker Cab was very courteous and had someone here in enough time to bail me out. So to summarize apparently Duval taxi does not have employees working 24 hours a day only when they feel like it and anyone calling any of the taxi companies should find out what arrangement the drivers have with the company. more

Needing taxi service from Jacksonville airport to the Carnival Cruise port, I made arrangements for Duval Taxi to pick my sister and I up. When we arrived, I was phoned by the driver as to the location of the taxi. Upon nearing the taxi, I saw a black woman with a red hoodie covering her head and shading her face. She mumbled under her breath, got in the cab and popped the trunk. inside the trunk was extremely filthy including a nasty spare just thrown into the trunk with dirty clothing scattered about, and trash. The driver did not get out of the car to assist us with our bags. When I got into the taxi, the smell was soooo offensive I felt sick to my stomach. Again, there was dirty clothes and trash. The photo of the driver posted in the taxi was someone else. The driver took off with the radio blaring (She turned up the volume on several songs). I have traveled much in my 50 years of life and have NEVER experienced such a frightful ride. Honestly, I was afraid that we were going to be driven to an abandoned area and robbed or killed! When I made the booking, I asked as to what the rate was going to be and was told $15 - $18. When we arrived to the port, the driver said the fare was $25. I told her that the dispatcher had quoted me the previous rate. She said ""Oh, she must have give you the 10% discount. Long story short, STAY AWAY FROM DUVAL TAXI! I cannot believe that this taxi service can even pass inspection on their taxis! more

called them up for airport drop off 6 hours in advance.they assured there wont be any problem.driver shows up 1 hour and 15 minutes late at the pick up place.driver asked money for gas.missed flight and next days work and pay. Cons: not responsible and unprofessional driver more

My fiance needed a ride to the airport early this morning. I had called the day before to set up a pick up time, but the car still showed up 20 min late. Then, the driver ran out of gas on the way to the airport. She informed my fiance that, ""she shouldn't worry, this happens all the time."" The driver then added, ""you may need to get out and push if I can't get it started again."" Luckily they were able to start the car and coast to a few different stations before finding one open at that hour. However, she didn't turn the meter off during the search for a gas station which added about $15 to the total. Finally, upon nearing the airport, the driver made it known that she was unable to accept credit although we had been assured that all cars were capable of paying with a credit card. The driver would not take my fiance the remaining distance until stopping at an ATM even though it was now only 30 min until the time of departure. This was a terrible experience and I hope that it doesn't happen to you. Pros: you will never have a worse experience Cons: old car, inconsiderate and incompetant driver more
