Never go to this place even if you have bought the Boy Scout Camp Card like I did! Like they say, "" Penny Wise, Pound Foolish"". I decided to come to Dutch Girl cleaners just because they had an offer on the Camp Cards. "" $15.00 off $30.00 or more dry cleaning per visit"". I had my regular dry cleaners but since this people had an offer, I came here thinking I could save some money! more

Terrible experience & customer service 4/14/2012

Terrible experience & customer service. I used Dutch Girl Cleaners for a couple months with no problems. I then had them dry clean a wool jacket, which they shrank to the point it is unusable. Management would not return calls, to the point it was a joke. There are plenty of dry cleaners that will stand behind and guarantee their work. Do yourself a favor and avoid Dutch Girl Cleaners. Search the internet for reviews on them. There are plenty of other customers of Dutch Girl Cleaners that have had a similar experience. more

Don't let these people ruin your clothing or special event.. 6/14/2011

Visiting Walnut Creek for a wedding, I dropped of my tuxedo shirt for cleaning and pressing on Friday. When I picked it up on Saturday afternoon at 3pm, the shirt had black spots on both the collar and back of shirt. I asked them to redo the shirt and they said they couldn't as the cleaning staff had gone home even though they are open till 6pm. They offered no remedy, trying to find me an alternative cleaners. (FYI, they tried to tell me the spots were on the shirt when I brought it in - not so) more

They Will Damage Your Clothes 9/16/2009

I just got a pair of suit pants back from Dutch Girl--one leg is now longer than the other. This is the 4th time they have damaged or lost my clothes. Last time, they gave me back my suit pants, but with the wrong jacket. When I complained, they made me jump through hoops to prove what my suit cost and never did reimburse me. I've finally learned my lesson and will never go back. more

rip off is all you get 5/6/2009

Dutch Girl is the place to go if you would like to be charged dry cleaning prices for your items to be washed. If the tag dosn't say dry clean only, there washing it and going to charge you as if they dry cleaned it. I know for a fact because i worked there for 2 years. The owner steve is so shady I seen him once distroy a customers dress and then send it to his tallor who then removed 3in off the dress to cover up what he had done . Why not pay for what you did rather than cover it up shady thats why! Who does this so if you want to put money in a fraud business do so at more

Stains Removal 7/18/2008

I recently moved to Mercer in Walnut Creek and began my search for a cleaner. A polite, well dressed in uniform, lady stepped out a Dutch Girl Tulip covered van to deliver clothes in my building. She saw I was struggling with some chairs, she immediately assisted me all the way to my NEW home. I thought with this kind of service and smile I should try the cleaner she worked for. Two days later I came into their store and realized that Kindness, Cleanliness, Attention to Detail, and Quality was just a standard there! I really felt like I was being serviced a 5 star Hotel. Pros: Customer service, green cleaning more

No Accountability 7/7/2008

They stained the elbow of a very expensive men's dress shirt with black marker. It looked like it was the same black marker that they use to write the shirt owner's initials on the shirt with. When I pointed it out, the girls at the counter agreed and offered to clean it for free. When it did not come out, they showed the manager Michelle, and she would not take responsibility for it, and even said it was blue ink. She left no room for discussion and had no problem losing my business. Very disappointing considering I was spending on average about $150 a month there. I will not go back and would not recommend this place for dry cleaning. more

2 Day Turn Around No Matter How Many Items You Bring In! 11/14/2007

This is my first review. I live about 2 blocks away from Dutch Girl. At first I was leary about the ""environmentally safe"" cleaning because I wasn't sure if my clothes would come out as nice as a traditional cleaning method. I find the staff is very helpful, they carefully inspect the materials of my clothes to make sure they don't need to over charge me to simply launder and press a garment instead of fully dry cleaning it. I've always been able to pick up my clothes after 4pm 2 days after I drop my items off, and whether I have 2 pieces or 20, they're always on time. If you look carefully, Dutch Girl also offers some great deals at various times during the month, so you can feel good about helping the environment and not feel like you are paying an arm and a leg. The staff has always been friendly to me, and they have done everything they can to ensure my clothes are done right the first time. more

I WOULDN'T GO ANYWHERE ELSE!!! 11/8/2007

Oh my goodness! This has to be the best dry cleaners ever! Now, I don't get a lot fo dry cleaning done (but everyone in our company uses Dutch Girl and loves them - like at least 20 accounts!) but when I need it, I go there! Pros: GREAT HOURS! GREAT LOCATION (next to Freeway)! GREAT PRICES! Cons: none - they even deliver!!! more

Complete lack of accountability 7/27/2007

Back in July 2007, my shirts were missing at Dutch Girls, and when they were found and returned to me, the missed shirts were pressed but stuck with many dots of dust as if they had been thrown on the floor. I had a bad experience communicating with a 50 something year old clerk there, and due to a lack of accountable person at the store, it took a while to get them to re-do the job. Finally, as a token of apology, Dutch Girls did not charge me for those missed shirts. Hence, I kept using their services. But, in February 2008, one of my shirts was missing and Roger, a self-claimed store manager called me to tell me that he would reimburse the cost of the shirt if I gave him my credit card receipt. After I search it, I could not locate a two months' old receipt. I called back and left a message for Roger that I wanted to discuss other remedies for the missing shirts because I did not find a receipt. I have not heard anything from Roger or anybody else since then. I gave up. I had used several laundry shops in San Francisco for over 12 years, but none of them had lost my shirt. Dutch Girls' complete lack of accountability turned me off. I stopped going back sine then. If you like a thrill of losing your clothes, go for Dutch Girls. more

Cleaning often comes back dirty. 7/18/2007

I use this cleaners because they are close & convenient, but the cleaning is the worst I have ever experienced. I have never had an experience where the clothes come back almost as dirty as when I took them in. Either its the new ""environmentally friendly"" method they use, or they are lazy. I just had to return a sofa cover because it was still covered with dirt--and the second time came back dirty too. Laundry is o.k.. more

horrible customer service! 7/10/2007

I just called to get rates and hours over the phone: The girl was laughing the whole time I was just asking what times and days they were open for business! How unprofessional! I will NEVER attempt to clean my garments here!!!! more

Fabulous Customer Service 2/3/2007

Dutch Girl Cleaners is a great place to go. I am a mother of two and always on the run. I take my husband?s work shirts to Dutch Girl and they always do a terrific job. They pay special attention to requests that I have and the shirts come back looking great! They provide top-notch service as well. When I have the kids in the car and I come to pick up the clothes, I can just call ahead and tell them I'm coming in and they bring the clothes right out to the car. It?s so nice to have a small business where they still give you really good personalized service and care about their customers. I highly recommend it! Pros: A great family owned small business, parking is easy, great service, and new building more

I ADORE DUTCH GIRL! 1/20/2007

Dutch Girl has been a staple in Walnut Creek for over 30 years. Their customer service is great, and the cleaning expertise is even better. What more can you ask for from a family business? The owners and staff are friendly and always make sure to accomodate any of my cleaning needs. I have been to other cleaners before and have never had anyone take care of my clothing the way that Dutch Girl does. They also have an excellent alterations department. Just last week, I got a pair of jeans hemmed, and they did a great job. If you are looking for a great cleaners with years of knowldege about cleaning, and a fabulous and friendly staff, look no further than Dutch Girl! Pros: Can't beat the parking! more

Worst customer service 10/19/2006

DO NOT GO HERE! They lost 4 of my shirts. Manager stated that 20 orders went out and that it probably got piggybacked with someone else's order. They told me they called all 20 people and that only 4 people called back. It has been 2 weeks and they still do not have my shirts. Manager said that she has been calling people every couple of days and leaving messages. I find it hard to believe that 16 people do not return phone calls! Cons: Poor customer service, untrained employees more

Great Customer Service/Quality 8/28/2006

I buy alot of Eileen Fisher black silks. The underarms always fade and lose color. I tried many cleaners, despite the reviews, Dutch Girl was the only cleaners who had the knowledge to give my clothing a speacial oil bath. THEY LOOK NEW!!!! My husband where's very expensive suits and loves his Tommy Bahama Silk. Our previous cleaner was always pulling out the color when removing stains, RED WINE. Dutch Girl was able to remove stains that were 1 year old with harming the fabric. We aslo love that they pick up from my office for free. There is no odor in our clothing. We used to air out our clothes in the garage before taking them in the house. Thank you Dutch Girl for your honest hard work, We love you guys! Pros: FREE VALET SERVICE> ALL GREEN CLEANING more

Do not go here 7/18/2006

I too, despite the bad reviews, took a chance on this drycleaner b/c they used green earth. I had 4 garments, three of which they ruined. One they ruined very badly -- I had an expensive black label Armani pants and their spot-treating ate through the fabric. I had a dress which they failed to remove standard underarm sweat stains. I could go on forever. This is the first time I've felt compelled to write a review. Don't let any drycleaner tell you sweat stains don't come off. A good drycleaner will know how to remove them. more

Read these reviews yet went there BIG MISTAKE 1/31/2006

Despite the previous reviews, I gave Dutch Girl a try. Based on their overall rating I thought the previous 2 reviews were exceptions. The staff is incredibly rude. During my visit I saw three very young girls. They were unprofessional, poorly dressed (even in their uniforms) and unknowledgeable about their services and prices. And when they did finally quote me a price it was the most incredibly expense cleaner I have ever been to. It did not help that I had to wait a very long time while not one, but two of them went back and forth with the customer ahead of me because they had done a poor job on his order and he had to send half of it back. What I would like to know is how on earth they maintain a high rating here. It is NOT at all justified. Pros: Siloxane Cons: Poor customer service, Very high prices more

Take your money somewhere else 10/12/2005

This drycleaners is over priced and has the worst customer service. When they make a mistake they blame the customer. I bought in a pair of pants for alternations and they altered the pants 2 inches to short. They blamed me for the mistake! The owner and the staff or rude. more
