I don't know where the reviewer got their information, but DUSI is open every day but Monday. Hours are posted on their website, www.durandstation.org. It's also Michigan Railroad History Museum and worth the trip to visit there! It's not just an Amtrak Station, so don't write it off as a destination! Visit and see for yourself. Bring your camera. It's the second most photographed Depot in the US. It's full of railroad history, displays, gift shop, library, archives for research, special events, Railroad Days in May, huge Christmas display runs from day after Thanksgiving to January. Ticket kiosk in the Waiting Room to purchase tickets. more

Not enough traffic anymore 4/1/2006

This is a great old train depot and Amtrak comes through a couple of times a day. However, the depot is no longer open all the time, but only a half hour before the train comes in. That makes it a bit difficult if you want to drop off passengers, we had to wait for the station master to open one cold January morning at 6:45. There is free onsite parking. There is a museum associated with the depot that is worth sometime, but again, with the station open only briefly, it is hard to browse before your train comes in. more
