I hired Dura Floor (Laguna Coating LTD) in the end of 2010 to apply concrete overlay on the driveway and backyard, as well as install epoxy flooring in the garage.
Contractor gave me 10 year warranty.
Dura Floor breached their contract in the following ways:
1) Failed to seal all concrete cracks and joints. Later, moisture came up through the concrete cracks and joints and caused overlay damage.
2) Dura Floor applied extremely thin coat overlay, not even close to ?? thickness that is called out in the contract.
3) Additionally, they used a glossy sealer instead of agreed-upon semi-gloss.
4) Contractor applied 1 coat of sealer instead of 2 that is required by the manufacturer.
5) Overlay is extremely slippery when wet. Its very dangerous and poses high risk of injury.
Mr. Tom Plottner, president of Dura Floor, said that they will fix the problems. After 8 months of phone calls and emails, they didn?t fix anything.
On April 1, 2011 Laguna Coating LTD (dba Dura Floor) ceased doing business as Laguna Coating and started operating under new ownership with new entity name :Dura Floor Corporation?. Several months later they changed their name to California Concrete Coating, Inc. (website: cal-coat dot com). New owner, Jason Lee, indicated that company will fix all of the problems, but after Tom Plottner filed for individual bankruptcy, Jason Lee rescinded his promise and said that he didn?t want to pay for the repairs.
Tom Plottner ? former owner of Dura Floor is now bankrupt.
He, assumed a position of Vice-President of Sales at California Concrete Coating, Inc.
Dura Floor License #834852 and California Concrete Coating, Inc. License#967164 were suspended by Contractor?s bond because of numerous complaints against Dura Floor to the state License Board. Unhappy customers filed claims with Contractor Bond investigation is ongoing.
Conclusion: wrong company for you!
