Best

Good food with great ambience! Everything I've had there has been delicious!! My favorite is the Duck Noodle Soup! Portions are on the small side. A must for North Shore area.

Best Pad Thai - But Too Overpriced 1/22/2009

My friend and I went to The Duck Walk in Wakefield Center last night. The ambiance was nice with beautiful dishes and candles on each table. The waiters were friendly and attentive. We each asked for a glass of the house Merlot. Normally restaurants will offer a good tasting, reasonably priced wine as their house wine, and because they order so much of it, price-wise those savings are normally passed on to the customer. Not here. We did not expect that a glass of house wine would be $ 8.00. To me that becomes not just overpriced, but a rip off. We ordered spring rolls to start which were tasty with an orange spiced dipping sauce. We realized there were only 3 rolls at most, cut into tinier portions. Not a lot for at least a $ 9.00 appetizer. We each ordered the Pad Thai for dinner. It was the BEST PAD THAI that either one of us had EVER tasted. Beyond Delicious! Very fresh and they must have a special secret ingredient that gives their Pad Thai a very distinctive taste. Scrumptious! The pad thai entree ran about $ 13.00. High for a noodle dish, but it was a good portion and again, very delicious. It was a fun night out but not worth $ 60.00. If you are a Pad Thai fan you owe it to yourself to try the Duck Walk. But what we will do next time is order Pad Thai to go and take it home and skip their appetizers and wine. I have rated them 4 stars. I would have given them 5 stars but couldn't because of the price. Pros: Best Pad Thai Anywhere Cons: Overpriced more

Thai food, but unusally expensive 7/22/2008

This restaurant is very overpriced and does not deserve its pricing system. I eat Thai food a lot because I love the full flavors. However, the flavor in the most typical dishes is subpar and entrees are $5 more than more tasty Thai food places. Try Bangkok Spice in Reading, MA instead. more

$20 entrees for basic thai food 5/16/2007

I heard the Duck Walk had decent Thai food & decided to ignore the disclaimers from other reviewers that it was overpriced. I thought, "" how expensive can Thai be?"" House specialties (which are no different than any other Thai restaurant around Boston - same quality, same portion size) are almost $20 or more! Appetizers are between $10-11 and salads can be up to $16! Pad thai - $12 and with only once piece of shrmip. Fried rice is $13. This place is a TOTAL rip-off and is absolutely not worth the money. Porchai is right down the street and is delicious and reasonably priced. Woburn also has a Thai diner (LannaThai Diner) that I read is great. There are great options in suburbia - don't be fooled into thinking you need to pay $20 for Chicken a la King. Pros: Decent food Cons: Way too expensive more

Mediocre 4/13/2007

I had heard great things about this place but was really disappointed in it. The ambience was fine, but the food was mediocre, the prices were high, and the portions were small. I go out of my way to try Thai restaurants, from fancy sit-downs to hole-in-the-wall takeout, but this is one place I won't return to. My pad thai was bland and greasy. With really great Thai food across the street (Porchai, on Center St) the only advantage I can see to Duck Walk is the fancier atmosphere and wine list. Pros: wine list Cons: food, prices, and portion size more
