I had a clogged kitchen drain that I spent several hours trying to clear myself. I called SD Drain Experts (45 minutes later) they arrived, diagnosed and fixed my problem. Very professional! After numerous quotes from other companies around $300 and even some co's knocking back the job because it being a condo!; I got a hold of SD Drain experts. They arrived on Saturday within 45 minutes, with no after hours fee. Jose was prompt, polite and provided some valuable info about my drainage system. I'd recommend them to anyone. i only had my kitchen pipes snaked. personally i think all plumbing work is ridiculously expensive BUT compared to everyone else they had the best prices and gave a warranty on the work done. even if they weren't the cheapest i would still use them because they have great customer service over the phone and in person RESPONSE FROM California Drain Experts: Thank you very much for your honest review. The owners were very difficult to work with. Photos that were advertisied that would show work needed and completed never happened. The work on outside pipes resulted in torn up landscaping. This company talked us into replacing our cast iron pipes. They way overcharged us for one day's work, then tried to charge us another $1500. to dig up a clean-out that did not have to be dug up, then tried to charge almost $500.00 for a camera inspection that was supposed to be free. We had to go to court, and the judge agreed the plumber had been dishonest and we didn't have to pay. Stay away from this company. RESPONSE FROM California Drain Experts: Mr. Thomas, I understand you are upset but there is no need to make false accusations. We do not "talk" anyone into replacing their pipes. Cast iron pipes are no good after 30 years and should be replaced with ABS plastic pipes. We gave you options and you decided that after all the headache your pipes were causing you it would be best for you to replace them. I believe when we called you back to ask for feedback, you were very happy. We also do not charge anyone for a camera inspection, so please provide me with an invoice that states that as I do not have one on record for you. I have used this company three times now an find them extremely knowledgeable and also respectful of your property. When calling for service they ask when it is convenient for you to come over. They check out the problem and give you an estimate while fixing the problem they show you the broken parts and let you know the exact price for the job. They are polite, quick and efficient. Roby installed a tub in the upstairs hallway bathroom. He was friendly and professional. I was impressed with the speed in which he gave me an estimate; he called his boss, recommended a price, the boss concurred and the deal was closed. Roby was available to do the job at my convenience. There was a slight glitch with the installation, but Roby returned that day and made the appropriate adjustments. Called them when my washing machine drain was blocked and they had someone here within a few hours! I wanted just a basic cleaning but he recommended hydro jetting for my problem. It seemed pricey but it definitely worked when I saw what came out of the drain. Also had a 1 year warranty on the service. He was very informative and helpful. After explaining exactly what I needed I was quoted over the phone $85.000 and the person doing the work set the price at $270. I was to busy to call someone else RESPONSE FROM California Drain Experts: Thank you for this honest review. You must have asked the dispatcher for a price. She must have informed you that our drain cleaning starts at $85 with a proper access clean out. We do not give set prices over the phone since we cannot diagnose the actual problem without actually looking at it. If you would like to call me to review your invoice I am sure I can explain to you why the price was higher than you expected. Not having a clean out, or getting jetting done instead of snaking will constitute a higher charge. However jetting is always 10 times better than snaking. Please call me so we can discuss further. I had a collapsed sewer line right at the city main, my pipes where so old and corroded that a new connection was not feasible. My entire sewer line was replaced, this is not a job I would have like to have done because of the cost but I know that my pipes will be good for the next 75+ years. The price was fair and they did work with me on it, I will say that had the city not gotten involved it would have been a lot less expensive. I've had services at my home, and two restaurants with these guys. Ali and Roby along with the team at their office are excellent in communication and service skills. Huge plus is that they offer camera service at no extra charge, I've had plumber in the past that charged me $250 just of the camera. On time and precise with what they set out to do for me. Showed up as scheduled and did a video inspection of the sewer drain. He quoted me a good price to service the drain. However he did seem rushed to get the work done asap and move on to the next job. I called several companies to get ballpark quotes, with no strings attached to get a range of possible fees for a blocked kitchen drain. San Drain Experts were one of only three companies who would give me a rough idea of the possible cost. The range given was more competitively priced than the others I received, and the actual charges came in under the maximum quoted. I will not do business with companies that are not willing to give me an idea of their charges before providing services. The serviceman who performed the work was pleasant, worked quickly and efficiently, and explained that there was an underlying problem unknown to me, which is very useful information. The only issue had to do with a miscommunication regarding the time the serviceman would arrive at my residence, but that was partly my fault as I apparently left an impression with the dispatcher that the exact time for the appointment was not as critical as it turned out to be. Overall the service was excellent, and the price was reasonable and fair. I will definately use San Diego Drain Experts again if I ever have another plumbing problem. I am in a field related to real estate, and I now have a company I can recommend with confidence to friends, clients and other industry professionals.
