Dr. Paul Rubin, DDS

The BBB does not accept complaints regarding the "ability" of a dentist / doctor, so the best thing to do is type my review of this practice. I had an excellent dentist in the Bellevue area, but I decided to switch because this practice is advertised as holistic and mercury free in the PCC monthly newsletter. If I could give -1000 stars to this dentist I would. He might be personable and nice, but that is not enough to keep you and your mouth healthy. I came to this dentist with perfect health and his inability to prevent / clean teeth cost me over 10K to restore my teeth health due to his negligence. He did my routine twice a year cleanings. While in his care, and after having my regular cleanings, I made appointments (yes multiple) and explained that a tooth bothered me. He told me that it was nothing, and each time he saw me was 251.00 dollars. He did not do anything but said that it was nothing. Well that "nothing" was a dangerous and fatal tooth infection. It took so long after I told him that that tooth bothered me that probably a little preventable cavity evolved to be a horrible tooth infection. Let me be clear, it took several months. How does a person get to this point after having excellent dental care and cleanings every 6 months? Well, by switching to this dentist practice. As a result I had to have extensive and very expensive number of procedures done, over 10K, and of course not by this dentist. Never, ever. I had everything done by professionals. If you are looking for a mercury free dentist, simply go to a reputable dentist (or stay with your dentist if you are happy) and ask them not to use mercury fillings, but really that is outdated and no one uses mercury anymore. Save yourself and don't switch to this dentist. more

All of my questions were answered, my cleaning was gentle and enjoyable and I felt very comfortable in this amazing office! more

When going to Dr. Rubin's office, I wasn't sure what to expect from holistic dental. I received the most gentle cleaning ever, and a very thorough and gentle exam from Dr. Rubin himself. I would recommend checking him out. more

dr rubin and his staff really care and they have a gental touch he never rushes like my old dentist and i love his holistic approach his hygienist is wonderfull as well more

Good: Everyone in the office is super friendly! Dr. Rubin is the most gentle and knowledgeable dentist I have been to. He takes plenty of time to talk to you and make sure he is addressing your needs. He using state of the art equipment like digital x-rays which reduce your exposure risk. His assistant Shanna is funny and sweet. Marilyn who works at the front desk is always really really helpful. I read a bad review about the woman at the front desk and can't even imagine that being her! (maybe it wasn't?). Other: This office offers such a great experience. It's not like those big dentist offices where they get you in and out as quickly as they can. It seems like these people actually like their jobs and care about MY health.. more

Not only was the woman at the front desk extremely defensive, she was incompetent- billing my insurance company for the wrong teeth,collecting from them after I'd paid the office directly and other glitches. Sadly, this carried over to the technicians and the dentist himself. A simple crown replacement turned into an ordeal as they were unable to get the fit right- huh?? This is probably my 10th crown and never have I had a problem with other dentists. And the costs- despite having dental insurance- are shattering! I prefer to work with providers who believe in the term health CARE as that is not at all what I received here! more

This is not my real name, But I temped for Shanna while she was out having a lovely baby boy. Dr Rubin is the nicest man, and a really great Doctor. He and Shanna really care. And are a great team. I have known him for about 9 years now. He has never waived in his care of staff or Patients. Love ya Doc! Terry more

I've had a bubillion cavities and braces and all the mouth torture I can handle. So that's why Paul Rubin is my dentist. I feel good going to see him. His hygienists are nice and encouraging instead of scolding. Dr. Rubin has a gentle touch and does not try to poke me til I bleed. They are eco-friendly so no mercury fillings (and remove old fillings if you so desire, which you should!) and it's just a nice office. more
