I was really scared of how my daughter was going to react to getting work done on her teeth so young and much to my suprise she did much better than I! they had toys and gave her a movie to watch on gameboy and when she was leaving she played the crain machine she loved it! I am very pleased with how everyone treated us and I am not sure my 2 1/2 year old was even phased she loved it thank you guys !! more

Great place for little ones! 4/7/2011

I have had two boys who have both had teeth injuries and Dr. Prater has been wonderful for both of them. My youngest is only 23 months old and Dr. Prater examined him quickly and was very caring and thorough. I would recommend him to anyone, especially those who have little ones that they aren't sure will do okay at the dentist yet. more

I have two kids a 5 year old and a four year old with fragile x syndrome. I was very impressed with how well the staff put my children at ease. My 4 year old made it through the entire appointment without completely freaking out! more

We have been driving from Lawrence for our children's dental care since 2003, and would do so if Dr. Prater was located even further away. He is kind, friendly, and extremely knowledgeable, as are all of the staff. Our children were both very fearful of going to the dentist until they began treatment in Dr. Prater's office, and now they actually look forward to each and every visit! What a fun, friendly, professional office. more

I have been attending this office for all 3 of my children for the past 10 years. I'm very thankful for the fact that they start on or little before each of the appointment times I've ever had. If you're appointment is at 10 a.m., you can be sure that they will take your child back at 10 a.m. I wish all doctor appointments were like that! The staff is wonderful and they keep the children relaxed and comfortable for every visit. more

Dr. Prater has been my children's dentist for nine years, starting with my oldest when she was 18 months old. Because of his calm, easy manner and wonderful staff, my children have never been afraid to go to the dentist, in fact, they look forward to it. I know my daughters will have healthy teeth and a beautiful smile because we aren't letting Dr. Prater retire until they are out of braces! more

Highly recommend Dr. Nick Prater and his staff!!! If you are in need of a warm, compassionate, clean and super kid friendly dentist, Dr. Prater and his staff are the best!!! I have a child with low tolerance for pain and the care she has received has been phenomenal. I can't imagine going anywhere else. I know they accept different insurance plans and are very kind to work out a payment plan if necessary. The customer service is exceptional...I can't say enough good!! They really know how to make going to the dentist a positive experience. I keep trying to get Dr. Prater to care for my teeth by saying "I'm young at heart!" but so far, he isn't buying it! You may discover, his office isn't the place for your family, but it is WELL worth giving them the opportunity to share with you their practice. more

There are many other dentists closer to where we live, but my kids absolutely love the treatment they get from Dr. Prater and his staff! They do not want to go anywhere else and always ask for the same dental hygienist! I am so glad I don't have to drag my kids to the dentist! Thanks for making it fun! more

Although Dr. Prater has been practicing pediatric dentistry since 1980, his education has never really ended. He devotes times to continuing education so he can offer "his kids" the best and most modern treatments available. Dr. Practer chose dentistry as a career because not only does he get to actualize his potential as a person, but he gets the satisfaction of watching children grow and mature. Of course, his goal is to have every child leave the practice feeling good about their treatment, about themselves, and about the practice. His goal is to put a smile on our child's face.
