Looking for a new dentist/orthodontist? 9/26/2010

I found Dr. Prater in the yellow pages. When my kids and i first met him, we knew this was the place we wanted to keep coming back to. Everyone here is very courteous and professional and they are family oriented. Kids are the top priority here and they are treated very well. I have recommended Dr. Prater to all my friends. They are the best! more

My kids love going to the dentist 9/23/2010

We have moved around a lot and in each place we lived, my kids hated going to the dentist until we moved to KC. All three of my kids do not fuss about going to Dr. Prater's. The staff is warm and friendly. My 8 year old loves that they have "Nintendo DS" and played it the entire time he had four teeth removed without a peep, during or after. The office is well run. The staff is professional and knowledgeable. I would highly recommend Dr. Prater, especially for first timers and school aged kids. more

Child and Parent friendly Dental Office 9/18/2010

Dental assistant ASKED if we wanted to get a full-head X-ray. Patient was given a Gameboy to keep him entertained. Received good information on using better brushing techniques. Dr. Prater was thorough and told Mom what to expect with loose baby teeth and how long we can wait for the loosest tooth to come out. Setting next appointment was quick. more

We were referred to this practice when we moved here 3 years ago. We were looking for a ped. dentist and I loved the idea that we could move straight into orthodontics in the same office!! Dr. Prater is not pushy about the orthodontics at all, and is great about explaining the benefits of what he does recommend. My daughter has horrible anxiety and she has done fabulously with this practice. I recommend it to all my friends :) more

Great atmosphere for kids. My son is 3 and was seen in the fish room. Tons of toys and "learning toys" I was amazed my son let them clean his teeth. Staff are friendly, professional, and knowledgeable. Would definitely recommend! more

My son Brock has special needs. The staff always tries to make him feel comfortable and humors him. Brock always has a big hug for Dr. Prater. With treatment (all three of our children have been patients with unique dental needs), Dr. Prater is always honest and presents all options. My husband wants him to be his dentist. more

This is the best place I have ever seen for kids. The staff is so friendly, they are so geared for the children of all ages that come into there office. I love that they offer coffee/hot chocolate for the adults to drink. I am so glad Dr. Prater is our Dentist and Orthodontist...I have 2 kids an both have beautiful teeth now thanks to early intervention more

I have been taking my children to Dr. Prader's office for 4 years now and am very pleased. I have a child with "perfect" teeth and a child that may need to get braces. I like that Dr. Prader never rushed me into talking about dental work until it was time. He always said let's wait until more teeth fall out and she's closer to 10 years. I talk to so many parents who feel pressured early on, and I never have. The staff is very friendly and professional and we've always had good experiences there. more

We have been coming to Dr. Prater's office for over 6 years. I used to work in a Pediatric Dentist office, and this is by far the best I've seen. The staff is so friendly and accomodating, and Dr. Prater spends time with you and answers all of your questions. I love that the staff recognizes you and remembers you. Now that is customer service:) more

I really enjoy going to Dr. Prater's office. His staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. My boys are never nervous or anxious about seeing the dentist. Everyone is extremely patient and gentle with them, so my boys always have a great experience. Plus, they love getting the prize out of the egg machine when they're done. For waiting parents, they have a fantastic gourmet coffee machine and plenty of magazines. Thank you!! more

Phenomenal dentist and office staff 5/20/2010

I first brought my daughters to Dr. Prater for some spacing issues that I was concerned with when they were a little over a year. The office staff treated my girls like they were the only patients. Dr. Prater was great with them and took time to talk to me and answer the questions I had. We have regular cleanings now and my girls have never been afraid. They love coming to the office to see Dr. Prater and picking out eggs (prizes) at the end of their visit. Thank you for such a great experience and helping my girls through a potentially scary time. more

Dr Prater and his staff are very kind and caring. We have been going to his office for the last 5 or 6 years now and they are great with kids. Dr Prater takes time to go over everything with you and answer any questions. The office is fun for kids with each room painted in a different "kid" theme. My kids actually look forward to going to the dentist. It might be because they get to win a prize from "the claw" when they are done. I highly recommend Dr Prater as a pediatric dentist. more

Although Dr. Prater has been practicing pediatric dentistry since 1980, his education has never really ended. He devotes times to continuing education so he can offer "his kids" the best and most modern treatments available. Dr. Practer chose dentistry as a career because not only does he get to actualize his potential as a person, but he gets the satisfaction of watching children grow and mature. Of course, his goal is to have every child leave the practice feeling good about their treatment, about themselves, and about the practice. His goal is to put a smile on our child's face.
