Oral Surgeon 7/5/2012

This place is a revolving door with patients booked front to back. The next patient is being sedated before the last patient is out the door. The doctor never even bothered to introduce himself to the parent of the patient, even after requested to staff. Patient was sent home before they could stand and walk without assistance. This doctor does not spend enough time and attention with his patients and only seems to care about how many patients he can squeeze ($$) into his day. Follow up care is handled the same way. more

Excellent Experience with Wisdom Teeth Extractions!! 2/13/2009

I am a college student at Appalachian State University. The oral surgeon I went to for a consultation in Boone was horrible (didn't even look at my x-ray). My sister went through with Dr. Kozacko's office for her wisdom teeth extractions. Even though I had to drive home to Raleigh to see Dr. Kozacko it was well worth it! The office staff at Dr. Kozacko's...simply the best! They were very professional and friendly...made me feel so comfortable (especially Jennifer - try to request her she will keep you smiling!) For the consultation, I was given a very informative video to watch about the wisdom tooth extraction process. Dr. Kozacko gave my teeth personalized attention. He studied my x-ray and explained each tooth's situation to my mother and me. He was very professional and answered all my questions very well. The day of the surgery went very smoothly. It didn't take long at all. No complications. The finance guy, Dan, is very helpful. He helped figure out the deal with insurance and payment options with my mother. About a week after the surgery I had intense pain due to the jaw bone regenerating. At the time I thought something was wrong. Dr. Kozacko gives his patients a number to reach him on the weekends. He called me back immediately and explained the pain and that nothing was abnormal. Talk about care! Pros: Great office staff, service, and personalized attention Cons: NONE more

Great service, Friendly staff, surgery was quick and a breeze 1/24/2007

I came in to see dr. K about a month ago. I had two failed root canaled molar teeth that were causing me all types of problems. The office staff was very friendly and professional, and it seemed like everyone really liked working there. Dr. K was also very friendly and had a very calming bed side manner. He gave me three options for the surgery (numbing the teeth only, numbing plus laughing gas, or going to sleep) and I chose the numbing with laughing gas. The surgery went great. I remember a lot of drilling but it was fast and with the lauging gas I really didn't care. Let me tell you, I have had dentists in the past butcher me for hours in their dental chairs trying to pull my teeth. If you want someone who can do the job quick and easy and has a great supporting staff, then go see Dr. K. Pros: friendly staff, excellent oral surgeon, Cons: high cost (but comparable to other oral surgeons, I checked around first) more

A bit rough with the needle 9/22/2006

Had a tooth extracted from Dr. Kozacko. His office recommended that I be put to sleep but I chose general numbing. In my years of having novacaine shots Dr. Kozacko was the roughest yet. Rough meaning he entered my mouth very quick with the needle and was a bit forceful with my mouth. It made me flinch to have this long needle come at me so fast. After I was all numbed, the tooth extraction was easy. It took all of 5 minutes to take out the tooth. My appt. was at 9am and I was driving away at 9:30am. This included the pre-payment at desk, prepping by nurse, novacaine shots, numbing time of approx 10 min., surgery and post op care instructions. I didn't feel a thing during the surgery, even when he said I would feel alot of pressure it was nothing. I don't really see why putting me to sleep was necessary for a 5 min. procedure. He recommended an implant at a cost of $1700.00 and an extra $335.00 to put me to sleep to put the implant in. I am researching other doctors in the triangle to make sure I get the best one and that this cost is comparable as my insurance covers $0 for implants. I think the $335.00 is a waste if your properly numbed. Overall good office experience. more
