We visited one doctor and left feeling like we were not listened to or offered the time to let us fully understand what was to happen. Then a few calls later I came upon Dr. Ditesheim office. Jan answered the phone and I felt for the first time I was being heard about the concerns I had with my daughters upcoming surgery. We went in for a visit and knew when we left, that it was the right place for us! We loved the whole staff and we're very grateful for their assurance and genuine love for what they do. I have been over 310 pounds for over 15 years. 4 years ago I had gastric bypass. I lost 126 pounds but still had a TON of skin left over. I saw several plastic surgeons over a few years preparing for my next step in my weight loss journey. I even saw what I thought was a highly regarded surgeon locally. I found his accolades in several magazines and heard his advertisements not knowing they were all paid for. When I went there I was given to a surgeon who was NOT board certified. That coupled with his plan to create over 6 major scars on my body caused me to search for another surgeon. I found Dr. Ditesheim through the web and a referral from a friend. When I met Dr. Ditesheim and his staff I was amazed at their level of knowledge and their level of care. I had researched what I thought I needed to have done and went in with a plan. Dr. D, Susie, and JJ listened to my plan and asked several key questions. As they asked these questions it revealed that my plan wasn't what was best for me. They constantly referred back to my health, my recovery, and my ultimate outcome. As we developed this plan they consulted every aspect of my life. They wanted to know what support I had, if I had enough time to recover, when I needed to get back to work, and if I was mentally prepared for the surgery. As prepared as I was it still was going into unknown territory for me. As an expert in my field I know all the ins and outs. I try to prepare all of my clients for what to expect but I know that it is uncharted territory for them. I knew this is what Dr. D and the staff were doing for me. They gave me all the tools I needed to make the best decision I could but I did have to trust their wisdom, and expertise to take me through the whole experience. I had my first surgery on 2/6/14. This was the most invasive, a full tummy tuck. I had over 10 pounds of skin, and tissue to be removed. I have never been a small girl but for the first time in my life I wore a bikini to the beach this summer. That was never my goal but it was/is a glorious outcome I never expected. My last surgery was 11/6/14. I am just two weeks out from having Aquashape liposuction to my entire thighs, bat wing arms, and some to my torso. I am already beyond thrilled with the results and I am still very swollen. I can’t imagine having anyone else perform my surgeries. I have even referred several gastric patients to Dr. D. Everyone in this office is very professional and inviting. From the front office to the examining room, the entire staff was wonderful. I am the kind of person that works out constantly and eats healthy but will never be a size zero. My family naturally holds fat in our hips and thighs. Dr. Ditesheim and his staff used the AquaShape on me and I love it! I feel more confident in my yoga pants and jeans. I am 30 years old and I have always had small breast. I have never been fully comfortable with my body. I didn't feel like a confident woman. I was a SMALL 34B - meaning I really should have been wearing an A. Now I'm a full 34C. I am so much happier. I can wear the little strappy shirts and dresses. I like to workout so I even feel more confident working out. I also am getting married in June of 2015 and I have been trying on dresses... OMG! I would have never felt like this before my surgery. \r \r \r \r \r After the birth of my son, I started to consider breast augmentation. This was after most of my adult life saying ""I will never get breast implants."" Having a child certainly changed me physically and it was a clear cut case of a woman's perrogative to change her mind. I didn't like the way my breasts looked and it made me insecure. Thus I started my journey into finding THE doctor to do the job...the right job. I went to three other doctors before meeting with Dr. Ditesheim, in fact, I almost cancelled my consult with"" Dr. D"" after hesitantly thinking I had already met ""the Dr"" at one of my thee other consultations. I am so glad I didn't cancel and did meet with Dr. Ditesheim. Right away, I was put at ease with the professionalism of his nurses and office staff. They made me feel like one of the girls, about to get her ""girls"" done. I conveyed my wishes and expectations with Dr. Ditesheim and he seemed to genuinely listen to what I wanted and furthermore, understood what I wanted and did not want (something that the other surgeons I consulted could not). Dr. Ditesheim understood that I wanted ""natural"" looking breasts and that I did not want ""stripper"" breasts which sat at my collarbone. The other surgeons suggested a lift along with implants, but Dr. Ditiesheim knew he could give me what I wanted with implants only and without additional procedures. I went through the ""fitting"" to find the right size for my frame, not too big but not too small....after all, we all want our moneys worth. After deciding on size, he and his nurses discussed at length my concerns and fears...too many horror stories to read about on the internet...and I immediately felt at ease. Surgery day came and went and I was extremely pleased with the results. The follow up appointments were always thorough and left me knowing that I had indeed made the best decision in choosing my plastic surgeon. I even went back a year later to have two small lesions removed from my nose and that went perfect as well. As of today, I am almost two years out from my breast augmentation surgery and I could not be happier! I look fantastic naked again. Dr. Ditesheim and his staff are awesome and I recommend him to my friends. There will not be another plastic surgeon for me. I am completely confident in his knowledge and abilities. Dr. Ditesheim is a great doctor -- to me, that's a given. But almost more importantly than that is the time and energy he takes to make sure I am happy. He genuinely seems personally invested in how I feel about the results I get. I have been a patient of his for years, doing Botox and fillers. Back in April, I talked to him about Aquashape Liposuction, and he took the time to discuss all the options and what I could expect. Just went for my 6month post-op and I am SO HAPPY with my results!! I really love how I look!! We chose him anyways thinking we would pay for using a highly educated, well-accredited doctor & eliminate any worries or risks. \r \r Touting his ""Harvard"" degree he seems quite knowledgeable about anatomy, cosmetic procedures, surgeries, and small procedures such as botox.\r He boasts plenty of before/after pictures as well as testimonials from clients and makes you feel comfortable that you, too, will have a good experience. \r \r After a poorly done breast augmentation that left my breasts ASYMMETRICAL & DIFFERENT SIZES I was, and still am, VERY DISSATISFIED. I had a post-op visit within the week of the surgery & have had several follow-up visits (it has been less than 10 months since the surgery) and HIS ONLY SOLUTION to ""fix"" the problem IS CHARGING ME $4500 TO RE-DO ONE SIDE. After trying to talk to him several times to try & work with us on a better solution he was rather aggressive in his tone & attitude toward us. ALL HE IS CONCERNED ABOUT IS GETTING YOUR MONEY....NOT making happy, satisfied clients.\r \r We have tried to get him to surgically fix the issue but he will ONLY do so if we are willing to shell out close to $5000. He will not even cover ANY of the cost. This was definitely the best experience I've ever had with a doctor. From the start of my consultation, to all of my post-op appointments, the entire staff at Ditesheim Cosmetic was very friendly and helpful. Dr. Ditesheim was very knowledgeable about the procedure and explained it in a way that was easy for me to understand. The recovery was very easy, and I am ecstatic with the results of my surgery. I had rhinoplasty and septoplasty last January and was told that it would take a year for all the swelling to go down. So, to be fair it has been a year since my surgery and I am VERY disappointed. My nostrils are uneven, with my left coming farther down. I also have a bump in the bridge of the right side of my nose. Actually I have a small bump at the top of both sides of my nose that can be felt, it’s just the right side is visible. I did not have unrealistic expectations nor bring in a picture of a nose I could never have. I simply wanted my nose, but “tweaked.” I also needed my airway in one nostril fixed for breathing issues. \r As far a bedside manner I really have nothing bad to say. While he is a little cold, I don’t care because the important thing is a doctor does his job correct, not that he is really warm and fuzzy. However, one of the nurses that worked there was horrible. I do not think she is actually there anymore though. She called a few times to check on me but didn’t really act like she cared too much. I also called the office two or three times a few months in with some concerns about inside my nose. I felt like I had a large hard knot inside my left nostril and wanted to know if it could be scar tissue building and if I needed any injections in it. She brushed it off as if it was nothing, told me I was overreacting and that it was most likely a large scab. Well, a year later and it is still there. My dermatologist confirmed it was scar tissue; however, I have no intention of going back to Ditesheim to fix it. \r My plans are when money allows and my schedule works to have my nose redone. Maybe I’m mistaken but I thought rhinoplasty was normally to take away bumps in the bridge of the nose, not create them. I feel like I should have spent my $10,000 elsewhere. Take my warning and find a different plastic surgeon before you’re looking to have something redone like I am. On a side note, the other ""awesome"" reviews look like infomercials. more

I am a 28 year old mother with one child; before my child I wore a 32A bra and after had even less breast tissue. I am 5'5"", 115 lbs. My greatest fear before surgery was that I did not want to like like I had fake breasts. When I went to the gym I had to wear a padded bra under my sports bra. This made exercising uncomfortable. I just wanted to look like a woman. At the gym, guys and even other women are checking you out. When you don't have breasts you feel like your are missing something. Now (1 year later) I look very natural, even my relatives couldn't tell (I had breast augmentation). Now getting dressed is fun. I stand tall and straighter, I am not embarrassed. I am feeling great. I love it. I feel more normal now (after surgery). I needed breasts, I had none, I dreaded going to the swimming pool. I felt pretty embarresed. I always like my body but did not want to look like a boy from the waiste up. I wanted to look like a woman. Now I feel like a woman. more

My consultation with Dr. Ditesheim was sooooo informative. He really understood my frustration and told me how he could help me. For my 40th birthday, I mustered the courage to do something that I'd wanted since my 20's. At the time that I seriously began considering reconstruction, I wasn't familiar with the term ""augmentation."" My research process began with reading internet articles and advanced to peer reviewed journals from the Johns Hopkins Library. As I educated myself, I questioned my gynecologist and nurse practitioner at the gynecologist's office. I was very timid and felt some degree of guilt for even considering reconstruction. I felt like I was abandoning the values that my family taught me. When asked about reconstruction, my practitioner responded in this way, ""Now I have seen a lot of breasts and a lot of augmentations...and DR. JEFFREY DITESHEIM does wonderful work..."" At a separate appointment the following year, I asked my gynecologist to name a reputable surgeon. She quickly responded that although she would not have plastic surgery, that she would only recommend Dr. Jeffrey Ditesheim because of the high quality of his work. After visiting with one other local surgeon, I scheduled an appointment with Dr. Ditesheim. Fast forward to today (2008). I must be one of Dr. Ditesheim's most satisfied patients. He is an extraordinary doctor with superb bedside manners. After the procedure, he and the nurses routinely checked on me at home. They were all very professional and a pleasure to work with. My implants are saline, beneath the breast bone. The incisions were done beneath the breasts. My scars disappeared rather quickly. My breasts have just enough sag to command attention. They are sooooooo awesome in a bikini - but because of the sag, they look super natural. There have been no problems with my annual mammograms. My husband did not support my reconstruction ideas. He said that he loved me the way that I was. So -- I paid for it myself. I did this for me - not for him. To conclude, I am more satisfied that I ever imagined and by the way, my husband is too. Dr. Ditesheim is arrogant and glib when it comes to patient care. Results and care are far inferior than promised, and his attitude is both rude and condescending. I would never recommend this doctor to anyone when there appear to be so many well-reviewd plastic surgeons in the area.
