Dr. Broadaway told me i needed three crowns even though i had no dental issues..and had recently completed extensive restorative dental work in RI. I had just moved to chesapeake and was having a routine cleaning. I chose him because navy insurance listed him and he was a mile from my new home. I always thought you could trust a dentist so why would I question his professional opinion. After replacing the three crowns I had extensive pain. I returned once and he told me there was no problem. After several more days of terrible pain i returned and he now told me i needed a root canal which he performed. This is the first time I should have been warned about his attention to patient care. Why did he not take the time to listen on the first time I complained? Because he is only worried about getting you in, getting you out and collecting your money. He took advantage because i paid all money up front. my story gets worse! all the the permanent crowns are ill fitted, not straight. When I floss, it rips due to the jagged edges of the crowns. He did try to replace the ill fitting crowns but refused to do a final inspection, merely allowing an unqualified assistant to perform the inspection of my work. I tried one more time to see him, but he claims it is his professional opinion that the work is satisfactory, attempting to make me feel stupid (he uses his business manager to screen, i had to visit and call four times before he was brave enough to face me). But wait, it gets worse. now three weeks after this ordeal, i have still not heard back from him despite promises he would call. AND MY BACK CROWN HAS NOW FALLEN OFF! I tried to contact a professional association to appeal his performance, but found out he is not listed on the ADA or NDA website. This questions his credentials. Wish I would have checked earlier. I have also heard of three specifics other persons that say he has done improper or needless work. Stay clear of Dr. Broadaway. Learn from my pain.
