On 7/23/2013 I had cataract surgery by Dr. Stewart, MD. He is an excellent surgeon with a well trained staff who really care about their patients. I had the laser surgery option. After 2 weeks I have excellent vision. Something I haven't had in 20 years. I can read again! I started driving again! I can look forward to even better vision. A+ Having worn corrective lenses for 35 years and recently developing cataracts in both eyes, I knew it was time for immediate action. I met with Dr. Stewart on an initial consultation on a Tuesday and decided to have multi-focal lenses done on both eyes. I was a bit apprehensive at first about the surgery but because of the extremely professional staff and the great reviews and feedback about Dr. Stewart, it put my mind at ease. Less than 24 hours after the painless surgery, I could see perfectly. One week later, I had my right eye done and now I have 20/20 vision. Dr. Stewart was always available 24/7 on his cell phone if ever I had a problem. I cannot say enough about Dr. Stewart and his making staff. more

March 02,2013\r \r On February 14, 2013 Dr. Stewart performed cataract surgery on my mothers right eye.It means a lot to have a doctor who is as gifted and caring as you are. Your staff was wonderful.My mom still talks about those warm blankets :-)\r My mother was able to see the beautiful nurses and doctors immediately after the surgery.She was reading signs all the way home.\r Thank you and God bless you. more

Dr Stewart did my left eye, this week, and I get the right one done next week at the Gramercy office. I was amazed that I didn't have bandages or a patch over my eye. I had no pain during the healing process.\r Everyone was so sweet, kind and gentle. They make you feel comfortable from the start. They have such caring attitudes and kind words. I am so glad my Optometrist suggested this wonderful Doctor. He and his staff are the best!!!!! more

ON July 31th i had cataract surgery perfomed on my right eye at Houston Eye Associates (H E A) by Colby Stewart, MD FACS never been so nervous and scared in all my life but the staff as well as Dr Stweart, assured me that i were in good hands and made me so comfortable every one were so nice trying so hard to keep me calm the staff were awsome and Dr Stewart, is a jewel if you ever need an ophthalmologists he is the one i definitely recommend him more

Could not believe how well Dr.Stewart and his team worked to get my cataract taken care of and the new lens implanted. From start to finish was an hour, drops were used to deaden the eye and I did not have to wear a patch. I have recommended Dr. Stewart to everyone who has asked about cataract surgery. more

Most things in life require occasional repair and improvement - houses, cars, computers, washing machines and yes, our bodies. For all these needed services, we ask our friends and neighbors for recommendations. If the time comes and we're told we have cataracts, most of us are at least slightly apprehensive about what will happen. Dr. Colby Stewart had been highly praised by my neighborhood optometrist. I made an appointment and began a most satisfying connection with this fine doctor and the Houston Eye Associates. Dr. Stewart and his staff explained what cataracts are and what could be done for me. It was more than a year after that first visit that Dr. Stewart said my time for surgery had come. he assured me it was painless and quick and that I would be very satisfied with the results. Satisfied is not exactly what I'm feeling as I can hardly wait for the second surgery on my other eye - I'm that pleased with the results of the first one! I'm seeing so much more than I knew I was missing. Throughout it all, everyone was professional, accommodation and concerned with my comfort and results and I thank them sincerely! I wonder how they do with washing machines! more

I was nervous and scared and the doctor as well as his staff made me feel extremely comfortable !!!!! I really trusted him during the entire process and he made me feel so welcomed to be there!!!! I would definitely recommend Colby Stewart as a knowledgeable and trusting doctor who really took care of my needs!!!!! Two weeks later and I can see clearly!!!!! As a ninety year old I was apprehensive about surgery. I shouldn't have been, everything went so well. All the associates and nurses were so pleasant and efficient as was Dr. Colby Stewart. Review for Colby Stewart MD 5/2/2012

Cataract Correction, Multi focal Intraocular lens My non-dominant eye was done a week ago, and I wish the dominant one was ready. With the multifocal lens I can read and see distance. Still need some help with the computer, but I am hoping the dominant eye will be ready for the correction this year and that issue will go away. This was the fastest procedure I have ever had. I was in and out in an hour and 1/2. If I could have dilated my own eye at home it would have taken about thirty minutes. A very efficient operation. There's no pain, just a little irritation for a couple of days, like a grain of sand, or a contact that has been in too long. I could read the paper the next morning. more

Cataract Correction: Artificial Intraocular Lenses (IOLs) 3/15/2012

The most important point of evaluation by far is resultant vision after cataract correction. My dominant eye was done 16 days ago and the other 9 days ago. At this point I am 100% satisfied with the end result. I've been wearing glasses for over 50 years and now I don't need them for 95++% of what I do. Dr. Stewart & staff get my highest recommendation. Based on my selection of fixed focus monofocal IOLs, Dr. Stewart strongly recommended correcting my dominant eye for distance vision and the other for intermediate vision (eyes to computer screen distance as I judge it). At first I was thinking distance correction for both eyes. Now I am most thankful to Dr. Stewart for persisting until I ""saw the light"" ... literally. I will still get prescription eyeglasses, mostly for small type and dim lighting, as well as Transitions® lenses for sun, but whether I wear them or not will be my choice. Charles A. Dr. Colby Stewart is a wonderful doctor. His bedside manor is very professional. He explains your condition and what needs to be done in a way that you will understand. I had my cataracts removed on march 8 2012. my experience was great. he followed up with a phone call that night, how awesome! i followed up the next day, and my vision was already 20/20 without glasses. i would recommend any one to use him as their opthamoligist. thanks for everything jenny more
