Dr Brown's Motorcycles

He may seem grumpy but he is not, he just gives that impression. He is very knowledgeable, very kind, can give you break on the prices, his prices are fair to begin with, did some work for free for me, he is not it for the money that's why he does do fake customer service like the stupid blond at cashier's at Fred Meyer. I like his sincerity, he is genuine. He also helped a friend of mine who had a lot of issues with his 750 Ninja, even he does not have what you need he likes to know how you solved your problem. check out his record as a racer it's pretty impressive. I prefer to shop at his store than to go to big chain walmart motorcycle stores... he may occasionally (usually his prices are low) a dollar or two more, but I still buy from him because he does not have the resources a big chain may have to offer low price. I prefer to support a guy like him because he is passionate than some chain who are in it only for the money. Again, he would charge your battery for free, try to fix some stuff for your free of charge if you are a regular, overall there you feel happy developing a relationship with him. He has a good sense of humor too, you just have to go there more than once. One more important thing, he offers you tons of advice and suggestions the kind of stuff you won't get anywhere else. Even the ones who do give you some advice it is after they make sure you pay money. Usually they tell you ""oh no we can't say you have to bring it here and leave it and we get back to you"" that is you get charged at least a good amount for checking in. Dr. Brown is not like that he tells you upfront what it is and what you need whether you are shopping at his store or not. Again he is not in it for the money, motorcycle gear is all over the place some of it is not even priced but that's the charm of it it reminds of the old motorcycle clubs and stores I saw in Europe. He won't try to sell you anything, buy or don't buy he still treats you the same, he does not care about making the sale, but he is good at giving deals. Remember he does not have secretaries and bunch of people so you save the cost the other charge you for their bureaucracy. I've been going to doc Brown's since I bought my first street bike when I was 17. Almost ten years later, and 8 bikes later, he's still my go-to guy for parts, gear, and service. He can be a little intimidating and grouchy, but that's just part of the experience; honestly I bet he thinks he's being funny. One thing to keep in mind if you're having your bike serviced is that sometimes you have to pester him to work on your bike. But other times, he's fixed things for me while I wait. He's also just given me parts to try and he'll say ""come back and pay me if the parts fit,"" etc. Pros: Superior knowledge, great selection of gear, quirky and interesting guy Cons: Service can be a little slow sometimes, can be kind of grumpy more

I'm just getting started with motercycles, and have been checking out a lot of shops in the area to try and figure out what kind of gear to buy. Overall, I've felt like most places have either had dissapointing stock or unhelpful salespeople. Not Dr. Browns. Sure he comes off a little grouchy, but he's a straight shooter about the gear he sells, and gave me a lot of generally good advice about what gear to buy for summer, winter, etc. with no pressure to buy anything. In fact he encouraged me to go check out other places to see what was around...I wound up buying a jacket and gloves and if I decide to buy anything else I'll probably see if he's got it first. In the end I don't even think he's really a grouch, just a little crusty. Don't let him frighten you, he's just a nice guy who cares about selling good gear at good prices. He even gave me a deal for buying the gloves and jacket together (after I told him I wanted them, it wasn't a sales pitch). The only complaint I'd make is that he's got a ton of gear jammed into a couple of small rooms which makes it hard to browse...on the other hand that just adds to the unique feel of his shop. And the personal attention more than makes up for the cluttered atmosphere. Highly recommended...unless you scare easily, that is. I was a bit scared to visit this place at first because of tales of an intimidating grump. Now I realise that those people who said that were absolute fools. If you are a fool, you may not want to go here. otherwise, dr. browns will delight you with real knowledge, character, serious street cred and amazing stock and resources. dont be shy, if he seems grumpy, it is most likely because he cant help you in the way he would like to. This man has gone far beyond the call of duty in assisting me. I have seen him do that for countless others and he will do that for you too. his items in stock range from up to date gear, to extremely cool vintage old stock. Check it out, give him your business. you wont be sorry. Pros: great help and great poducts Cons: seems to spread himself thin but maybe he like it that way more
