the people were actually really friendly. let them know that i wasn't planning on buying anything at the moment but just wanted to take a look and they were happy to show me the cars i was interested in and also insisted i take them for a test drive. the sales guy was upbeat and had a sense of humor.... not pushy at all. so him and his trainee came along for the test drives. it was pretty fun and he kept talking about all sorts of things that had really not a lot to do with selling a car.... more

I have been getting car service since the 1980's, and I have never been to a shop that takes such good care of its customers. They are not only proficient, timely, and good at what they do, they are actually nice people, who really seem to care. Service is key to their success. more

I always get my car serviced here now. The service writers are OK, but the auto techs are GREAT!!!!!!!!!!!! The auto techs are really helpful and knowledgeable... which is greatly appreciated!! They treat me and my car like a QUEEN!! more

I just bought a 2010 Corolla from Downtown Toyota of Oakland. I went in the weekend before and told the salesman what I had in mind. They listened to what I wanted and let me drive a few cars and then let me walk out without purchasing a vehicle. I felt very comfortable the entire time. No hard-sell tactics which was really good because I am female and I was on my own. I went back the following weekend and they made me a great deal on a barely used 2010 Toyota Corolla. It's a great car and I love it. I thought the sales staff were very nice, helpful and considerate then entire time. Definitely recommended. more

Before I purchased my car, I checked out all of the Toyota dealerships in the Bay Area. I went with Oakland Toyota because they ostensively had the best deal. I soon learned however that it was a bait and switch. I spent hours trying to complete the deal that they had given me but tried to shirk. In the end they even lied and didn't give me the color they promised they had. This dealership has undoubtedly the most unprofessional sales staff that I have ever dealt with. Not to mention the place is filthy. My advice is to avoid this dealership at all costs! "Buyer beware" is true to the bone at this despicable place.
