Willing to go extra mile, AMAZING service department!!!!! 11/20/2010

I broke down on the side of the road in Brewer (I live 4 hours away in NH) and AAA towed my car to the toyota dealership after we called them and they said yes, come right in. This was a Saturday at 1:00pm (they close at 4:00pm). This dealership is partnered with AAA also which was amazing. When we got there, Mark Johnson was right there to help and his techs took on a 4+ hour job under 3 hours before they were supposed to go home for the night. They were so friendly and kept us updated and were honest with us about the availability of the parts we needed and the cost. In the end, his quoted price was even less than the actual price!! They stayed after the whole place closed up and made sure our car was up and running good. They even topped off the fluids and filled the tires. They could have easily said to wait until Monday because the job would take too long but they didn't, they stayed and helped us. It's good to know there are still business like this out there, willing to go the extra mile when they certainly don't have to. I wish we lived closer because we would most definately be bringing our Toyota to Downeast Toyota for everything from now on. I HIGHLY reccommend this place (at least for service on your vehicle). I don't know the tech's name but he deserves just as much credit at the service writer (Mark) for all his hard work! more

My Toyota 9/8/2010

I have bought 5 vehicles from Downeast Toyota and have always found the sales staff, service, and management to be straight forward and able to answer any questions that I might have had. Not only have they helped me during the sale but have continued to listen to me after the sale as well. If I have had any concerns they have addressed them right away. I would definately recommend Downeast Toyota to anyone looking to purchase a vehicle. more

I have had a few similar incidents and have heard of numerous instances where the salesman and manager were rude, obnoxious to potential and current cusomers. I dont understand what their problem is. I hope they are starving now that auto sales are down, no sympathy from me. My last encounter was in 2003 they when they kissed up to me to buy a Four Runner that I wanted. A couple of weeks later I went back in and talked to the salesman""Brewer"" his boss""Geaghan"" told me to get my Explore off his lot because it was from Canada. Whatever that meant... didn't know any information about car they told us they cant keep on the lot, not even MPG, ignored us, in the middle of talking with them, one walked off to start a different sale with another gentlemen who also walked out due to the staff there..gave us a hard time because we wanted to see how the car we wanted to purchase worked (they had a used one in the showroom) the salesmen gave us a hard time retrieving a battery, said he wouldn't get the battery again when we closed to trunk to see if the was adequate headroom in the rear, 6 different salesmen, no one knew anything pertaining to MPG which I found very surprising with today's fuel prices and economy. When mentioning that to a sale rep, he became very rude and argued with me, but before getting very argumentative he told my husband and myself to go home or on their computer to look up the information ourselves, UNPROFESSIONAL TO SAY THE LEAST, UNFRIENDLY UNKNOWLEDGEABLE, UNCARING!!
