Although they do stock some adorable merchandise, I have no idea how they stay in business. The majority of the staff -- especially the owner -- are so incredibly rude! I live near the store, and almost everyone I know refuses to go near the place. On my first visit, while I was checking out, the owner and one of her staff were ridiculing and criticizing a customer who had just left (the woman wanted something gift wrapped, but they refused because she bought a sale item...and then made fun of her when she left). I was surprised that they would talk this way in front of another customer (me) -- until I began to ask around. Everyone I know has a "Doodles Horror Story." The stories range from the relatively mild (a generally rude and condescending attitude) to the extreme (hanging up on people, cancelling registries, and yelling at customers in a store full of people). Maybe if I had heard these things once or twice, I could ignore it, but when EVERYONE you talk to has either had a bad experience themselves or seen an incident while they were in the store, it gets pretty hard to justify giving them my business. It's really unfortunate because they have such cute things and they are so convienently located, but I've found that I'd rather drive a little farther down the street and go to places where they actually appreciate their customers.
