Donovan Equipment Co installed a dump body in a used chassis truck for me. Overall, they did a pretty good job. There are a few things that didn't get taken care of, but I have called them back. The biggest problem I had with them is communication.
The salesman was supposed to give me some calls ahead of time and he failed to do so, that prolonged the project. The ironic part is that he told me that the spring department, another department I was going to deal with under the Donovan umbrella, were are less than personal. Those are issues they need to address.
I had pretty high hopes that things would go well. I ordered tool boxes they recommended and when I looked inside there was no specialty mat, as in the showroom. The other thing is that the truck was supposed to be ready by Memorial Day and it wasn't ready until a week later. It's not a big deal but I would have appreciated a call to let me know.
The sales man wasn't the least bit in terested in what I had to say. When they were trying to get a deal with me they were like my long lost buddies and when all was done they didn't call me themselves anymore, the billing lady would be the one I would talk to. It's no big deal but it makes me feel like I'm not a customer worth giving time to.
The pricing was another thing that threw me off. The quote for the job was $600 and when I got the bill it was over $1300. It was a very generic total, it was not an itemized bill. Overall, the body was great but there were a lot of things that left me scratching my head.
