So Long, Eddie 5/14/2012

Have been pretty regular customers of Tuscany for several years, but have not been since Eddie left...he was, for us, the heart and soul of the place and always had a great smile and time to mingle with the guests to assure all was going well. We will check it out again soon...but must admit some of the reviews have me a bit skeptical...can you still have dogs on the patio?...that was a great addition, and one that I hope is still allowed... more

Tuscany Restaurant - I think not 3/30/2012

You build a business one customer at a time and you lose a business the same. I am sorry to say that Tuscany's Restaurant lost our business tonight. My sister had told me about the restaurant and said the food was great and that we should give it a try so we did. We got to the restaurant, nestled in the Tusckawilla neighborhood. At first glance it appeared to be a nice, quaint restaurant. If we only knew what was waiting for. We walked into the restaurant and the waitresses were buzzing around like little workabees. I thought to myself, this looks pretty good. I spoke too soon. The hostess greeted us by telling us there was a 30 minute wait. Ok, we have waiting longer for other places so why not. As other people walked in, the hostess told them that they were backed up and that they were not seating anyone at this time. They were trying to get everything caught up. About 45 minutes later we were finally seated. Our waitress took our orders, brought us our drinks, bread and salad and off we went. At this point we are still thinking everything is going good. 20 minutes, 30 minutes, 45 minutes go by and no food. So at this point we hace been in the restaurant for 90 minutes and still did not get our food. We became friendly with the people sitting around us. Everyone was feeling the same way-- what is taking so long? A few minutes later food was brought out to this older couple sitting next to us. Everyone started to clap. We watched as they ate their food, paid their bill and left the restaurant. You guessed it! We still did not have our food. By this time my patience has run out. The waitress proceeds to get the chef who comes to our table to apologize and stated that the food would be out in a few minutes and that they would take 50% off of the check. Fine but I was even more annoyed that people who came in after us received their food already and we still had not gotten ours. After almost an hour and a half wait, our food comes out. We are still willing to eat at this point. We each take a slice of the pizza. We had ordered a white pizza. There was no flavor to to the pizza. The crust was soggy. Not a good experience. So on to the main entrees. My husband had the past trio and I had ordered the eggplant rollatini. Although it looked good, the taste was something different. The sauce was bitter and the ricotta cheese was dry. The sausage in my husband's dish tasted like mush and the sauce was very watery. Our waitress came over and took one look at us and realized we did not like it. She graciously apologized and indicated she understood. She took the main meals back to remove it from our check. We said we would pay for and take home the pizza. We figured throwing it in the oven and adding some garlic would make it taste better. The next thing we know the female owner comes over to our table to apologize. She was very matter of fact stating that she is sorry and we do not have to pay for anything and we could just leave. That was not a sincere sorry. It was an ""I dont want to deal with you or hear anything and you could just get our of my restaurant"". more

New Owners! 12/14/2011

Tuscanys has new owners. I personally liked Eddie, but can understand how is huge personality can turn some people off. The food is delicious with my personal favorite being Pasta Labella!! The servers are very friendly and we feel like family when we go. The sauces are all cooked to order with fresh ingredients. Neighborhood friends are always present. It just doesn't get any better. more

Poor Management 8/25/2010

Good wine. Nice waitress. Bad food and for gods sake, dont order the Eggplant Parmesan. Four of us dined for the first (and Last) time. The food was marginal at best. more

Don't eat here 3/4/2010

Lousy food, dirty dining room, a$$hole manager, bad service Pros: Nothing Cons: Everything more

Dirty Dirty Dirty 3/4/2010

The bathrooms were messy and unkempt, the silver was unpolished, the menu was more a diner than an italian restaurant, and Tuscan it wasn't. more run of the mill ""my forst Restaurant"" faker italian..and the manager is foul mouthed Cons: everything more

Very lousy Italian 3/4/2010

This is a greek diner masquerading as an italian restaurant. The chef/owner is foul mouthed when he is even understandable, and the servers are slow and uncaring, there side chatter and personal lives are more a topic of conversation than the customer service is... Pros: Nice building Cons: Blase predictable, unimaginative menu more

I am trying to get a coupon at great frustration. 2/1/2008

I have never been here. I would like to go to this restaurant, but you are making it very difficult to get a coupon, and I do not go to a restaurant without a coupon. Why are you trying to get this information from a new member!! Don't you think it kind of silly? Pros: Thumbs down so far Cons: Thumbs down so far more

You want Italian?? This is the best!! 6/28/2007

My wife and I have yet to order something we didn't enjoy. The Bruschetta appetizer can't be beat and try the Muscles fra Diablo.. The Zuppe De Pesce is the best we have had in Florida....The wine list is great and if you are waiting for a take out they will give you a glass of the house wine to enjoy. If you are not into wine ask for a cold beer. The owner is the chef and he does things right.. We love this place...Be prepared to be a big eater or take some home with you. The portions are much more than you would get in any local italian chain restaurant and the cost is less. ENJOY THE FOOD. WE ALWAYS DO... Pros: FOOD quanity and value Cons: PArking can sometimes be a problem on weekends.. more

Best Italian food in the area 7/9/2006

OK, I'm from Europe and I know Italian food when I see it. This place does it all! The food is excellent - forget Olive Garden or any chain for that matter. Privately owned is the best! Each dish is done with care and is homemade in the restaurant. Many other restaurants have a lot of food prepared somewhere else and than delivered - not this place. Highly recommend it - my favorite is chicken Vienna - creamy pink sauce is the best! Pros: Very intimate & the authenticity Cons: None really more

Still Great but the Change Pasta Trio Back 12/23/2005

My wife and I love this restaurant. (See her early review below about the great bread and the pasta trio.) The bread with dipping oil is still the best. I love the spaghetti, but somebody has changed the way they make the pasta trio. This used to be a served on a plate; stuffed shells, lasagna, and raviolli (I think) with the most delicious herby tomato sauce. Now it is packed tightly into an oval baking dish, then either put in the oven or under the broiler. There is very little of the tomato sauce that always made this dish so great. Now it is crusty and dry, a hugh disappointment. Please change it back - until then we will still come, but will order other dishes. Until now, everything at this restaurant was superior. Please don't tweak your great recipes. Pros: Bread with Dipping Oi, Great Value, Fresh Ingredients Cons: Changed PastaTrio-Dry more

Some of the Best Italian Food in Greater Orlando 9/3/2005

Love the bread and the herbed oil for dipping. Adore the pasta (and I'm not a pasta lover,) especially the trio pasta dish. Absolutely everything is excellent here, homemade and fresh, and the prices are really reasonable. My husband wishes they served pizza on weekends as they do during the week, but weekend pizzas are only available for kids or for takeout orders. My only hesitation in writing this review is that too many people will read it and want to go. Weekends are already crowded. Pros: Wonderful Food, Good Value, Nice People Cons: Gets Crowded more

like getting an Italian chef sent to your house 4/19/2005

I live just a mile away from the place, and have been there many times since it opened. Food is tremendous! Plenty there as well! Selection of wines is good. The atmosphere is very relaxed - the owner did the best he could to make the small establishment comfortable, given the restrictions he was under when opening the restaurant - old farts in WinterSprings are very strict! It is a very friendly place, lots of smiling faces, the cook owns the place! He takes his food very seriously. If you want an orignial, home cooked typoe Italian meal - this place is a must! more
