Great Local Neighborhood Italian 4/22/2010

This is exactly what you hope for from a local neighborhood Italian restaurant. The atmosphere is perfect and the food is delicious, especially the Sausage and Basil pizza (not listed on the menu). It's a great place to bring kids of any age and they cater to them with food selection and even activities to keep the young ones occupied while they wait for delicious pizza or pasta. The service is notoriously slow, so don't come if you're in a hurry, but it's worth the wait to be with your family. Delivery would be a nice option, but for pickup, it's great that they have a separate entrance for it. Pros: Atmosphere, Kid-Friendly, Food Cons: Service more

Best all around Italian Food 1/19/2010

I grew up in Pasadena and remember the first Domenicos. They've been business for 50 years and have always been the best. Recently I was back visiting and brought my friends who were in town for the Rose Bowl game. We had the Antipasto Salad, Fettucini Alfredo with shrimp and mushrooms, and the Sausage, peppers and potatoes. It was all FANTASTIC and we all had leftovers to enjoy the next day. I can always count on the best food from Domenicos. This is family owned and the tradition of excellence continues . more

good pizza 12/12/2008

If you crave real Italian pizza, go to Domenico's. The crust is nice and thin, not like the thick bread of chain restaurants. Yummy! more

Best Italian! 12/6/2007

This is by far the best italian food money can buy! The food is mouth watering and the hospitable and warm atmosphere is comforting. I love that you also have the option to sit and dine or order take out. I will definetly spread the word of mouth! more

slow, slow, slow 4/22/2007

We walked into the restaurant and gave our name to the host. He offered us a table in the back which my boyfriend declined because he wanted a booth. He told us it would be about 5 minutes for a booth, although an open booth was available. About 10 minutes later, he offered us the open booth from before. We were immediately greeted by a bus boy who took our drink order. Eventually a waitress showed up to take our food order. She was prompt with our salad, but disappeared for about a half hour until she brought the bread. At which time she said our meals would be coming out momentarily. Our pasta dishes (fettucini alfredo with vegetables and sausage, peppers, and potatoes with ravioli) were piping hot when they arrived a few minutes later. Then the waitress disappeared for another half hour until she finally asked if I wanted a box and then promptly brought our check. Although the food was good, the service was atrocious. I doubt we'll be back for dine-in, but we might try take-out pizza. Pros: food Cons: service more

Great pizza 3/23/2007

I love the pizza, pasta and salads at this place. It's an excellent spot to take kids, and I took my siblings there so I could combine my two favorite past times - eating and studying. They loved the pepperoni pizza and I went with a staple salad and pasta. Needless to say, we'll be back again very soon. more

Great Little Family Restauran 6/2/2006

I overheard some other mom's picking up their children at the same school mine go to say ""I saw you at Domenico's"". I made a mental note to check it out with the little one and my hubby. We were so happy we did! Fantastic pizza, a sweet, cozy little neighborhood restaurant and kid friendly. We'll be back....again, and again!! more

Just like Mom used to make 8/13/2002

This is the best Italian restaurant in Pasadena by far. The pizza is to die for and all the ingredients used are fresh. more

Pizza only 6/28/2002

Go to Domenicos for pizza and you will walk away with a smile, anything else may leave you wanting. I am a big fan of the Randy's Calabrese which has chunks of pepperoni, broccoli and artichoke hearts, my husband prefers the traditional sausage and pepperoni. The sauce is a little on the sweet side for my taste and the salad is always smothered in cheese and olives, but has little else. Call in advance if you want it to go, there is always a wait! The pizza at the location on Fair Oaks tends not to be as good so make sure to order from the one on Washington. Pros: pizza, take out Cons: pasta more
