Dogwood Kennels

I was VERY disappointed with Dogwood Kennels.....I took my dog to the kennel in the summer of 2013 for one week, as soon as we got back home, I could tell something was wrong with her...I took her to the vet and she had a respiratory infection. I decided (reluctantly) to take her again this summer BACK to Dogwood......MISTAKE! When I picked my sweet dog up this time after one week of boarding, she was VERY sick, took her to vet, and was told she had a BAD respiratory infection again.....my dog has not eaten for over a week and is very sick! I would NOT take her back there, especially knowing I did all I could to prevent any issues like this....by getting my dog her vaccinations and Bordatello prior to taking her......so that tells me that things are not being run well and/or cleaned sufficiently! I honestly do not think they are checking vaccinations thoroughly prior to boarding animals! I have never had a problem like this in the past with other kennels....I am very disappointed to have to write this review, but I want others to know what my dog has had to suffer after boarding at this kennel! Also, I DO NOT like the fact that I go away on vacation....call during the time I am gone and was told my dog was doing fine, yet when I pick her she is coughing on the way home and lethargic! Please reconsider before choosing this facility to house your family members!! :( more

We have been taking our dogs to Dogwood for many years now and we can honestly say that they get the best of care. Caregivers do check on them frequently - they know what's going on with your pets. We call them from whereever we travel and they are always ready to answer any question we have. If there is, for some reason, an emergency, they will take care of your pets according to your wishes and as if they were their own. They will work with you if there are special requests or situations that need special attention. Our dogs come back to us looking as good as they did when we took them in. We recommend them highly - and have done so. Pros: Animals well taken care of more

We have used this kennel for over 15 years and have never had a bad experience. They have always taken very good care of our pets and seem to genuinely love animals. The grounds surrounding the kennels are simply beautiful and meticulously maintained; as are the pet areas and the kennels. Our previous two dogs loved going there and now our two golden retrievers visit there. The staff is always courteous and friendly and our pets are happy, healthy and clean when we pick them up. I would highly recommend this kennel to anyone at anytime without reservation. more
