Best Dog Care 5/13/2010

We have been using the Doggie Spa for almost ten years. Our four paw family member loves the spa, and the care is excellent. Facility employees really care about the animals. It is also clean, and rooms are much larger than a kennel. Make sure you bring your dogs favorite toys, blanket or pillow to sleep on (unless they are ok sleeping on a cement floor) and chews...it will feel like home to them. If you have special food, dog spa can store and provide for them as well. Facility is a good drive if coming from locations other than south Chapel Hill, but worth it (same for the price). Owner is direct, policies are very black and white with no shades of gray. However, owner is not rude, just running a business with a strong customer base. You make exceptions for one, you have to make them for all. Our dog is always well taken care of, no matter how our dog behaves or how long the stay is. If you are looking for solid, good care for your dog while you are away, Doggie Spa should be at the top of your list. Pros: Clean Facility, 24HR Onsite Personnel, Rural, Dog Loves It! Great place to board your dog 10/11/2009

I have boarded our dog at this kennel at least 5 times. Not only is my dog obviously well cared for but so are the owners. I have either observed incredible customer service given to other pet owners or been on the receiving end. I love the personal service provided by asking that only one dog be checked in at a time. There's a sign asking owners to wait to enter the check in area if someone else is checking in. This really reduces my anxiety about lots of strange dogs meeting each other for the first time in a small place. When it's our turn we get all the attention we need and are never rushed. Excellent Dog Kennel 6/2/2008

This is a great place to board your dog! The staff always treats my dog with great care - even giving him peanut butter to take his pills. He always comes back happy and tired from all his play times. I like that he gets a chance to play with big dogs, which he doesn't get at the dog park. I always feel okay about leaving him, knowing that he'll be in good hands. Piece of mind goes a long way. They are also extremely affordable especially for a big dog like mine that also needs his own food and medication. Their groomer is also really good. I always recommend this place to all my friends. It's a long drive, but it's totally worth it! It's best to book in advance because they fill up quickly. Pros: Dogs treated with great care more

BOW WOW! 5/6/2008

i luv this place; my best friend Dame is here and we play on the days i come to day care. my moms love this place because it is clean and i listen to npr instead of other junky radio. the humans in charge are great and they speak "dog" fluently. when my moms go on trips i stay here for years (my moms say its weeks but it feels like years) and still have a great time, except i miss my moms, the cats, and most of all my toys, gracie, lambie, george, and rudy. i hope you will bring your dog here too so i can have more friends.\r bye,\r missableable more

I trust no one else 4/20/2008

I've been taking my dogs to the Doggie Spa since they were little (they are 6 and 7 y.o. now). They absolutely love it there--getting to run around with other dogs, having their own room instead of being in a cage. We can bring their stuff from home--beds, special food, snacks. When dropped off there this past weekend, my dogs did not even glance back at me before racing through the door. They come home tired and happy. Also, we've been able to come pick them up at odd hours--like midnight after driving back into town--using the 24 hour check out rooms. more

Doggie Spa & Day Care - Great Place for Pets 4/15/2008

I have boarded my dog at Doggie Spa & Day Care for over 6 years. I love the way the staff greets you and your pet. My pet loves her playtime with all her doggie friends and loves the attention from the staff. She comes home content and happy. The facility is clean and secure. I never worry about my pet while she is at Doggie Spa. I will not take my dog anyplace else. more

My Dog Loves Doggie Spa 4/15/2008

This is a great place to bring your pet, whether it be for one day or one week. The staff is professional and always greets you and your pet with a smile; you can tell the staff and owner have a great love and compassion for animals and it shows. The facility is clean and I love the large rooms that are there for the dogs. My dog loves her play time with other dogs. When I pick her up she tired and content. I have boarded my dog for many years at Doggie Spa and would never take her any other place. The staff is professional and friendly. As soon as you walk thru the door, you know your dog will be well taken care of and you leave knowing that your pet is in good hands. The rooms are spacious and climate controlled. My dog loves her play time with the other dogs. She always comes home happy and content. When I mention Doggie Spa, she perks up and is ready to go! Doggie Spa of Chapel Hill - My Dog Loves It! 4/11/2008

My dog loves Doggie Spa. I have boarded my dog there for many years. She just loves the staff and the attention she gets while there. The play time with the other dogs is her favorite! When we moved, she was boarded for over two weeks to give us a chance to settle into our new home. The staff was wonderful and they always make her feel special! I would never board my dog anywhere else but here. Very professional and you know your dog gets the very best of care! more

The features of Doggie Spa are great. Lots of space, nice calm country setting, large outdoor yards. The staff is always nice, and greets me with a smile. And the care they give to my IGGY is tops. I would recommend it to everyone! Pros: location, features of the spa Cons: not one! more

Fun and Happy Place 4/11/2008

I love the place. It is a bit of a drive from downtown, but it is worth it. I cannot even think about putting my dog into a cage or crate when I travel. It would be like 2 weeks in a storage warehouse. Pros: rooms, play time, small dog friendly,climate controlled Cons: the 10 mile drive more

Dog play groups 4/11/2008

I have 2 dogs, and it is hard to find a place that lets them board together, AND to get play time with other dogs. My dogs love to be around other dogs. And since one is very old (12+ YEARS) she has some special needs. She always comes back happy and alert, and obviously well cared for. Being and empty nester, it is great to know there is a place that treats my 'kids' well. Pros: play groups, discount for 2 dogs more

She cannot wait to get there. She howls down the entire driveway and jumps from the car and goes for the door! She loves the care the staff gives her! She is treated like a queen! Between being open EVERY day, and the ability to get my dog late at night. And the cost is very reasonable since play times are included. (My girl likes to play all the time and needs her play times when I am away! We have boarded at Doggie Spa for more than 5 years, always with excellent experiences. Dogs come home happy, they are eager to go again, pricing is affordable and the staff well aware of my dogs needs and behaviors. Most of all, my dogs willingly go back time and again. an alternative to traditional boarding 11/14/2006

I have boarded my dog there, and he was treated with great care and came back to us happy. The dogs there are kept in small rooms, so they can stretch their legs, and they are put into age-and energy-appropriate play groups three times a day. Importantly, they aren't able to see each other from the rooms, so it isn't a din of barking all the time. It's not as luxurious as some of the high-end boarding places, but it's much more affordable--actually comparable in terms of price to traditional kennels, where the dogs are kept in cages and the level of service and comfort is so much lower. more

My dogs' favorite home away from home in Chapel Hill 9/8/2006

This doggie day care and boarding facility is great for busy dog parents. They offer 24 hour drop off for day care pups, and 24 hour drop off for boarding dog when arranged in advance. The designers put a lot of thought into the building and surrounding premises - cypher locks offer secured access, the grounds are gravel for cleanliness, and they have their own generator in case of extreme weather conditions. Their prices are on par for the community, and worth every cent when the pooches come home tired and happy. PROS: 24 hour secure access CONS: a little far out from Chapel Hill proper more

good place to board 5/22/2006

We've used doggie spa several time and have been pleased every time. They take great care of the dogs they care for and make sure they get lots of attention and outside play time. If your pet has special needs, they can accomodate them for you. Rates are a little high, but the service is worth it. They do require up to date vaccinations. and a minimum stay during certain times of the year. more

    Every dog gets a 5x20 room with a window for natural light.  They get 3 one half hour plays times ( Wed,Sun and Holidays they get 2 one half hour play times!).
