I went to the Doggy Lounge after starting a new job with insane hours (60hr work wk minimum required)
Kyllee (sp) was willing to open a little bit earlier on certain days to meet my schedule since I live in Lakewood and needed about 45min to get there and back in the a.m and 1.5hrs to get there and home in the p.m with traffic. (Not a single Lakewood/Wheatridge/Golden daycare facility thought twice about changing hours on certain days to accommodate a pet/client)
Not only was she super friendly, but she was down to earth, gave me her honest opinion (as a dog behaviorist, which she is) for no additional cost. She didn't sugar coat it when she told me my dog had a really hard time adjusting, and even had to be put into ""Time Out"" a few times when my dog started getting agitated with some of the more energetic dogs.
Within 2 weeks (going 2x a week) my dog, who was a rescue from a shelter that I could never leave alone w/ family or friends without her whining or barking all day due to separation anxiety the minute I left her, started to NEVER LOOK BACK AT ME when I dropped her off and put her leash in to Kyllee's hand like she did in the beginning.
She was so excited to be there and by the end of the day she was so tired that going outside for her p.m. potty seemed exhausting. (She's maybe 5yrs old, 50lb heeler mix).
Kyllee is amazing. Not only does she do behavior work, but she opens her daycare for rescues sometimes, sans profit. (One time she opened the daycare to anyone who adopted/supported the Greyhound Rescue by taking their dogs for the day so the rescue could have a benefit party at Elitches.) Her staff is almost as amazing as she is. They are all very mature, and you can tell they are not the usual younger than 20-something yr olds that you find in most daycare/boarding facilities that are there to make extra $ and think just puppies are cute. her staff is WAY beyond that.
I actually found this place by working at a vet clinic and hearing through word of mouth from one of our ""Highly Established Client's"".
Plus, if you can afford it, your dog can be boarded over night and have his/her own private room (NO KENNELS!) After spending the whole day playing in the daycare area...basically 12hrs of daycare for around 35$ plus a private room for sleeping. They also offer a webcam so you can watch your pup play.
If I didn't live so far away i'd use the Doggy Lounge every time I needed to put my dog in daycare or boarding as she is my daughter. Unfortunately I live so far away that the commute and gas make it financially impossible now.
That daycare/boarding is the best i've found, and i've worked in the vet field for almost 10yrs. You get what you pay for, and The Doggy Lounge and Night Club is not only affordable, but your dog will get the love and attention you know he/she deserves at a reasonable price on top of playing all day with other dogs under supervision of trained employees.
Hopefully they expand and make new locations in the Lakewood/Wheatridge/Golden area...i'd be there in a heart beat and I know my dog would be one step ahead of me ; )
