My child attended Discovery Point for almost 3 months. I thought the facility was great and the ladies taking care of my child seemed to do a great job. The issue we had was with the owner, she seemed rude, uncaring and we feel she wasn't looking out for the best interest of the children. Even though she didn't deal directly with the children, she makes the decisions about what goes on at the daycare and how its ran therefore we no longer thought our child should be under their care. The major issue we had with the day care was that RSV(Respiratory Virus) was apparantly going around in the infant room, my child was the 3rd one in the class (to my knowledge) to catch the virus. I called the school to notify them that I had taken my child to the doctor and had been diagnosed with the virus and they said it was contagious, so I wanted to let them know so they could notify other parents that there was a virus going around. My child could not attend daycare for 10 days due to the virus. During this time I checked in at the daycare periodically and with some parents to see if they posted a note or anything to let the parents know, plus I did not want my child going back and catching it again if other children had it and weren't aware that it was a virus and not just a cold or something. Not one time did they post anything or let the other parents know, and two other parents said that they let the daycare know as well once there child was diagnosed. We also found out that the teachers were aware that the virus was going around but were told not to tell the parents. I have a major problem with people trying to hide facts and information from me that can affect my childs health. You do not keep things like this from the parents, and why would a daycare purposely do this, aren't they suppose to have the children's best interest at heart???
