Best

This is by far the best restaurant in Nola. I had the BBQ shrimp with the Ribe-eye. Worth every penny. The steak melts in your mouth. Can't wait till I come back.

Worst

This restaurant serves good steak - nothing spectacular, especially for the pricetag. My experience with their service has been bad and worse. Pros: Location, Atmosphere C...

Dickies' Superiority 5/15/2003

Dickie Brennan's Steakhouse is hands down the best steakhouse in New Orleans and The region. Dickies has always provided me with amazing service from within its elegant atmosphere. With a host of refined chefs, and dapper captains, The DBS experience is one that all are sure to remember. Pros: Good Parking, Reasonably Priced more

Bargain Basement 2/4/2003

WHERE'S THE BEEF ?!! 1/31/2003

The setting and service was very nice however that is what you pay for,the food was moderately ok, I have actualy had a much better tasting steak at several other places around the city for half the price. In short I found Dickie Brennan's to be ""OVER PRICED"" and extremely ""OVER RATED"" Pros: atomosphere, service, wine list Cons: taste of steak, price/value, location more

Another Also Ran 1/13/2003

Still searching for the NOLA's best steakhouse...Dickie Brennans' isn't it. Side dishes are excellent; however, the steaks are good, not excellent...the search continues Pros: location, great side dishes, good wine list Cons: steaks not outstandin, pricey more

Wonderful 1/13/2003

By far the best steak I have ever had in a restaurant ever. Expensive, but I expected that. more

Overpriced 1/3/2003

In New Orleans you have entirely too many Overpriced and Overhyped restraunts and this is one of them. The bill is outrageous for the meal served. more

oh please 1/2/2003

Dickie Brennan's? Please. Comparatively speaking, I end up paying more for a lower quality of product. I was not impressed. Now, Port of Call? Fabulous. Star's? Terrific. I'm surprised these places didn't get on the list and Outback did. Pros: Polite Service Cons: Expensive more

refreshing excellence 12/19/2002

After three days of eating marginal food, we asked a shop owner where the locals went for great steak. He directed us to Dickie Brennenan's without hesitation, and without hesitation I recommend this restaurant to anyone wanting a great meal and great service! more

close but no Ruth's 12/19/2002

Brennan's does a good job for the tourist trade, but after everything is said and done...""it's not a Ruth's Chris Steak."" I have been from Natchez to New Orleans, Chicago to Seattle, Key West to Main and I have never had a steak as good as Ruth's. Pros: Nice Tourist Place, Crowded, Nice Wine Selection Cons: Nice Tourist Place, Crowded, Proud of thier wine more

Steaks to die for!! 10/24/2002

Favorite meal in New Orleans, period. 10/9/2002

My wife and I honeymooned in New Orleans for two weeks and went to many excellent and well known restaurants including Comanders Palace, Brennan's, and Mother's. Dickie Brennan's Stakehouse was easily our favorite. Although pricey, it was well worth it. The steak, creamed spinach, and even the bread melted in our mouths. In addition, the service and decor was great. As I said, It was my wife and my favorite meal in New Orleans and possibly of our lives. more

tourist trap 10/3/2002

brennans steakhouse is and overrated tourist trap with decent food, decent service and ambience but for the price nothing spectacular, if you want the best steak in new orleans go to the smith and wollenskys, a new york steakhouse, best filet mignon i have ever had and very large portions it was 16oz good service nice atmosphere, its on podyras street down the street from the superdome i think Pros: decent food, prestigious name Cons: tourist trap, overrated more

Not Worth the Wait 10/3/2002

We waited 30 minutes to be seated and another 30 minutes to be greeted by staff. We waited 1 1/2 hours for our entrees to be served, and even then our entrees were cold. Never once did the staff offer an explanation or apology. As we sat and watched management gushing apologies to the larger tables, we wondered why no one still had not come to our table. The larger parties had much to drink and were yelling profanities at other tables. The staff did nothing to suppress this, and they continued bringing drinks to the tables. After paying our bill for over $250 for five of us, we left feeling like we wasted a large amount of our vacation time and money. I don't recommend it to anyone going to New Orleans, especially those with children. There are many other restaurants with more reasonable prices and excellent service. more

A top choice 9/26/2002

You'd never think it used to be a parking garage. It's tough to find a good steak in the South, but there are several fine restaurants in New Orleans. Dickie Brennan's Steak House is one of the best. Great food and exceptional service. more
